I’m eleven years older than the oldest Beatle pictured here. They were just kids. It’s unbelievable not only the prodigious talent but also the Rolodex of rock and roll history they summoned on command. You cant buy this level of artistry, it is genetic predisposition combined with peerless work ethic, luck and timing. I’m ecstatic Jackson’s team gave us the definitive document of a world class band at the peak of their powers.
@theperson8539
@theperson8539 11 месяцев назад
I wouldn't say genetic, I feel like genetics play very little role in it, like John taking an insanely long time to learn how to play the chords on instruments. I'd say it was more that the expression was important enough that they expanded their mastery to suit the needs of the message they intended to spread.

The rhing that strikes me most is their focus on creation, rather than just playing something written before. Most of us (myself included) are happy to spend time just trying to cover music others have already made. It's so inspiring seeing creativity being front and centre, and wirh that mindset, no wonder they were able to create so much. Of course, crearing is one thing - their talent was creating music that other people loved, for generations.
@Elriuhilu
@Elriuhilu Месяц назад
Learning to play what others have made is a good way to practise playing and get a feeling for what works, which then makes it easier to create something if you decide you'd like to do that. Having too many options can make a task feel overwhelming, but learning that there are certain constraints means the choices you have to make are better defined and easier to conceptualise.

The longer version is more interesting: George & Ringo are sitting down. George has his guitar on his lap and looks sleepy. Ringo looks a bit tired and hungover. Paul walks in, ready to work. There's some conversation. Paul plugs in his bass guitar to the amp. He starts playing some chords he's obviously been working on. George yawns (probably thinking how much he doesn't want to be in this cold studio, when he could be riffing with Dylan & Clapton in Malibu, instead of being here with Mr. Bossy pants and passive- aggressive John.) John is somewhere else in the studio. So, now, Paul's got his own groove going with the beginnings of "Get Back." George wakes up. Begins to strum his guitar (which is not gently weeping). Ringo starts finger drumming. Now, John, listening to the fun, walks over (wearing Yoko's fur coat), flings a magazine on the floor, sits down, picks up his guitar, and starts playing. And, that's how the song, " Get Back," began. Sleepy Ringo, uninterested George, distracted John, and workaholic Paul.
