- student of Franz Schmidt and Joseph Marx in Vienna (1933-1935)
- violinist, conductor, composer, harmony teacher (18 years in a row at the Bucharest Conservatory)
- he composed practically in all genres of classical music, from opera to lied, from ballet to symphony, and from oratorio to film music.
