The unexpected happened when one of the Dads had to get extracted from the challenge! We made a call to Paul @FabRats you won’t believe how the challenge ends!!!
I need to thank the coach......its so super important what he does and those boys are so blessed to have him....just a thanx from an ex football dad ❤️🇺🇲
Great adventure. No shame in calling it. Safety and health is more important than ‘sticking’ it out. I’ve done survival camps and they are a challenge. Mostly you learn and grow no matter how old you are 😂❤😅
Slept in a Bivi for dozens of years in the mountains of Washington State... in all weather conditions and had no issues... except for the first couple of times before I learned How to keep it dry and warm. Since then.. mummy's and quilt bags. Recently, I bought a 3 system bivi, and I am looking forward to using it during hunting season. Oh.. and I am 60 10 years USAF 15 years Scouts
I'm glad I watched this. Good to see friends out having fun in the woods. Me my self I would have took a fire arm. To many crazy things I. This world and people to not have one.😂
So you think that you can do it with any problems with only what they had with them ! That way you can experience it the way they did ! Please do it record it and then share it everybody ! Otherwise please crawl back into your mom and dad basement and shut up !
Either this is the very first time camping.. or you guys really don't have a clue on proper camp set-up. Because even someone who's been out a few times knows to air-out the bags before climbing in them. And by the way.. Bivi Bags rock
Please educate us! Not really sure how airing a bivy out would make a difference, but I'm not a professional bivest such as yourself. Please enlighten us with your bivy knowledge.
I've gotta give it to you guys, at least you tried. I've done it and know and understand what you went through. To all the armchair naysayers - it's a whole lot harder than it sounds/looks. I am expecting a Part 3, however. Proper preparation and minimal gear/supplies - be successful.
Heck yeah Adventures never disappoints I'm so glad that I subscribe to this channel thanks for taking me along looking forward to seeing more take care God bless be safe out there
Very cool! You guys have guts...I'll give you that. Havng growm up in the woods 80% of the time...Never go camping without proper hiking boots, a sleeping bag and a piece of real canvas. Hot or cold...always have those three things. ( beyond the water, fire etc...)
I have hiked across the continental divide 3 times. Had ice-cycles hanging inside the tent in the morning. At 12500 ft. Felt like I would not finish the hike. Now I am old and can’t imagine doing the same again.
You guys won. You went..struggled but stayed the night and hiked back. Your all winners man. People dont realize that nature is beautiful but treacherous. Being better prepared equipment wise wouldnt of been so bad guys.
I could handle the cold sleeping, I have to sleep with at least a fan on and air if possible. The wife make that hard in the winter. (N.J.) LOL. But True. it's the walking that would take me out.
Been there and done that, Twice. Appalachian trail through hike south to north and two years later north to south. That N to S trip was really rough due to time and weather. 6 months each direction. Now, with all of that said I was 23 and 25 years old at the time and in prime condition. Good work all of you guys, it gets much tougher as you age. I am now disabled and I miss hiking so bad but glad I can live it through the trials and tribulations of others.
Done it in the u.k., so i know what your on about. Can not do that any more, now at 56yrs old, did wild camping when i was younger, and totally enjoyed it.
You need tree bows under a tarp for insulation from the ground. Best if you built a liento to trap the heat from the fire. 1 tarp makes a big difference, but you can also build the liento from all natural materials.
Thank you guys for the adventure and a few laughs ! Wow , the end made me think of my dad sadly he passed away several years ago from Pancreatic cancer he was in his late 80's ! Dang I miss him !
If you kept the rubber mule, you could cut off thin strips and melt them in the fire, then apply the molten rubber between the loose sole and the shoe. Place heavy rocks on top of the shoe until the hot rubber cools. This should bond the sole back on the shoe and get your team mate through the challenge. Side note: be sure to clean the area to be bonded and remove any dirt/dust that may have collected. (Shoe Goo is your friend :) ) Good luck!
Haven’t done survival training for several decades but the main thing I still follow is I do not go into the woods without clothing I can survive the cold nights (wool layers with a wind block cover) with. On the boot failure the one main thing to remember is don’t trust anything built in China doesn’t matter brand name or price they will all fail. Make the investment and get some quality custom made boots, don’t trust the mass produced junk even the danner, redwing, west coast brands are a shadow of what they once were.
Well, ya all have a story that will last a lifetime. safely archive this video, and play it all back in 20-25 years, and then compare the tales to this video. ;)
I know the feeling of hiking 10 miles & a few nights of camping & when you reach your vehicle the seat feels like the most comfee seat ever .i used to do that every week for yrs & yrs with herniated discs in my neck & back at 50 yrs young . & it keeps you alive .,
How can this many guys not be able to make a shelter? you are in the woods with tons of materials, and you have the bibbs and tarps. A simple lean to shelter would keep the warm in
