This only proves that companies like the UFC don't care about the fighters. There are preventative solutions to the abhorrent weight cutting practices.
@Lucky Luke i appreciate the acknowledgement. Fighters like Felder can't really turn down offers or they stop getting the offers. Moreover, lets say you walk around at 180 and fight at 180 (as you say is your choice) but now you have to fight me and I cut from 205 to 180, and then rehydrate to 200 to fight. You now give up 20lbs to me. Weight classes exist to orevent these type of advantages. If EVERYONE doesn't cut weight, those that don't are at a serious disadvantage and in a sport where winning = money, you don't really have a choice. It is the responsibility of the organization to prevent this and can be done requiring daily weigh-ins for 1-2 months leading up to a fight (or maybe spot/random weigh-ins) so that everyone fights at the weight they walk around at.
@Lucky Luke yeah...same day weigh ins would be a good idea as well. They can still do their Promotional weigh in even the day before, but right before you step in that cage you must be at weight seems ideal.
God he’s so fucking motivational. Every second, so passionate, so persistent, so true to himself. It really makes me cry. You see the struggle and his push through it, and you can’t be less than happy seeing it. Great job
When they showed his girlfriend pretending to give him a drink of her soda, that is how intense those weight cuts are and on that short of notice? Insane dedication
Also during the weigh in he started yelling at fighters for missing weight and the blood in his cuts started flowing because of the adrenaline. Guy is a legend
@George Washington I don't really care that much but we had a pretty strict lockdown in New Zealand and now we're pretty much covid free. If you did the lockdown the right way the first time instead of complaining and not following it then you might might not be in the mess you are now 🤷
This mini-doc was such a banger but they never mentioned the fact that Felder had to cut 20+ pounds within 5 frickin days to make weight and that's some next level shit mann!!! Huge round of applause for The Irish Dragon
Hope that judge never works for the UFC again. When you give a 48-47 to one guy and the other 2 judges give it 50-45 the other way you clearly have no capability to judge fights
This great man perfectly represents what the UFC should be to everyone. It is always inspiring to see people leave their comfort zone... Tremendous legend 🐉🇮🇪
For those who really love this sport, let's take a moment to respect what these athletes go through for our entertainment; this is what sets MMA apart from all others. Felder: good fighter and good dude. Keep at it brother!
@@AndreiThaFish why cant it be for our entertainment and the money? and ego? these fighters are risking their body and mind to put out a product that we all love watching, shut the fuck up
@@AndreiThaFish they do it for everything you mentioned. You really don’t think a fighter cares whether or not you’re entertained by them? Of course they do, that’s what makes them money
He’s gonna be in the booth for a while so even if he retires he still has that. watching the ppv Saturday, it’s nice to hear joe but his heart isn’t in it anymore and his bias to underdogs is annoying to a lot of people
@@phnix6242 All three judges scored it wrong. Felder clearly won round 4, so it should have been 49-46. The other two judges scored it 50-45 which just isn't true.
@Kaemen Lathery Google global truth project and read "the Present" to see the truth about life/death. Nothing is more important than checking it is true, especially pgs 1-4
@@carlosayala3675 deiveson was in the hospital too like 20 hours before being part of a FOTY candidate. not saying that's great, thats tremendous strain and i hope hes healthy, just saying i hope chandler performs reeeeal well after taking these months off to recover
I was sitting here sore, my body, & mind feeling physically beat up, but knowing I need to go get my training in. I have a lot to do today, & watching Paul during that weight cut just fanned that flame enough for me to go get warmed up. Paul is a stud, & seems to be a great role model, & ambassador for the sport. In a world full of of Jon Joneses be a Paul Felder.
If thier is a fighter to love and respect, it's Paul Felder, his attitude, perseverance and the willpower of this absolute legend is astonishing. We love you Paul!🇨🇮🐉
@@hemkarki9378 Charles O is a helluva lot tougher than you realize........obviously. I picked him to beat Ferguson, and he beat him much easier than I anticipated.
What a stand up guy Paul is. No one will never truly know what it is like having to cut weight on 5 days notice. Those short notice fights are something you never here talked about to much. That is because those men that step in that cage are a different breed of individual. They are true warriors, who put everything on the line every single time they step into that octagon. Nothing but mad respect.
Man that moment made me so happy when it happened..." I'm not going anywhere right now" one of my favorite ufc guys all around from fighter to commentator. A very close 2nd to the man bisping himself
Phenomenal mini documentary and the title of the video is so short, snappy and direct. I like the supreme effort he took on in 5 days. Insane effort for short notice fights regardless of the current level of UFC fighter!!
He actually did really really good in that RDA fight. If it wasn’t RDA he was fighting and, instead, someone one or two ranks lower he would’ve beaten them. Really good performance
What Always amazes me ans sometimes brings me to tears is the most fascinating thing: Killing one another and then wrapping it up with a hug. It is a mystery.
Felder's walk out was awesome that night, just his difference in demeanor vs when he's on commentary vs a fight is cool to see. Another cool moment was Duke motivating him in the corner at the end of the 4th, complete demeanor change after Duke mentioned his daughter so much so that I think Whitman mentioned it during the fight.
*Thank you Paul just for being you.* As an old school fight fan from all the way back to UFC 3 I remember the PRIDE guys and the original UFC roster. I respect the new fighters, don't get me wrong. But you definitely have that grit those guys had. No fear whatsoever. You didn't just set an example for fighters on that roster. You set an example for people everywhere from all walks of life. I want to live my life like that now. I want to take chances and make sacrifices. I don't ever want to tell myself "I can't." Never again! You woke something inside me. I don't know you and I know we'll never meet but just by taking that fight you inspired me to be a better person. Thank you Paul Felder, I'll never forget this.
Paul Felder is the perfect example to tell someone about when explaining how tough it is to get a title shot even in the light weight division. This man is a punch or a Judges yes or no away from that several times and lb for lb one the UFC's toughest most well rounded fighters ever!
Dude is badass, love watching him fight and love listening to him commentate. All around good guy, and shows true respect. Rarity in alot of human beings.
@Michael Thomas pretty much. Don’t blame divisions because people choose to do crazy cut. That said, 165 and 175 would make sense but still fighters need to be responsible for their own weight.
@Satyromaniac I didn't misuse projecting, genius. You're projecting your insecurities on someone who is comfortable enough inside of their own skin to admit they'd like to befriend someone. Just because you find it hard to tell another person how you feel about them doesn't make it fruity when someone else can. It just shows how little you know yourself and the world.
At the post fight presser Paul said “I can promise you I ain’t going anywhere right now” then a few months later he retired without another fight lol. Can’t blame him though what a legend!
Felder is so full of heart, not even a former world champ could take him out! And to put out this kind of performance with a five day camp, how can anyone not have love and respect for him! Much respect, Paul Felder is a fighter, no give up in him!
Yeah i'm also glad he's choosing to take more beatings that will ultimately cause irreversible brain damage that will cripple his future and probably cause him to die young. WAR FELDER!!!!!
Beautifully done... As most of the time. But Jesus, those weigh cuts! I'd love to see the ufc coming up with a solution to this. That feels insane and inhuman sometimes.
It's nothing to do with the ufc bud. Fighters choose what weight to fight at then lose the relevant weight. No one makes them cut wieght. It's a tactical thing.
Bro.. fighter is free to choose what weight or division they want to go and build up their career .. this all their choice.. not UFC, dana tell so many time.. if you can't make weight,go to upper division.. but they all refuse to go because of easy fight the smaller fighter
Nobody on earth competes this hard it’s why I fell in love and almost can’t take other sports as serious as I used to I respect them but would they do this
I think the ufc should start doing these kinds of things alot more it's really cool to what the fighters actually go through especially the weight cuts they are brutal and paul is the man
What a savage. Love watching Paul Felder throw down. One of the most underrated top ten guys out there. Hope to see atleast one more big guy. Stay safe n healthy, God bless.
