that takes some real talent to be able to play that chord solo AND sing at the same time....incredible. and to be able to nail it at the drop of a hat...that just blows me away
acgm046 The fact that the dude in the audience could barely talk in English is probably evidence that they're Asians. Music is a big thing in Japan and Korea so I'm not surprised that these guys can clap in time. Actually it's only America where we can't clap in time. Last I checked Finland, Sweden, and many other first world countries are musically tonal.
The crowd keeping their clapping tempo really help add something special to his solo. It just shows that PG is a really versatile player, the man can play any styles.
Damn he's a master of the instrument. It's just fun hearing this. You could go out with any chick and have Paul officiating the music for the date and he could take you to headbanbanger land or set the mood for a dance with a mysterious woman in a beautiful dress at a fancy club. He is a versatile and creative player and everything he does is masterful.
Hi Paul, This for me is my favorite. I was introduced to you by my Son, Jesse. When he was a small boy, early grade school, he wanted to go to look at the CDs at Target. He would listen to “Just Take My Heart” again and again. We both love music We listened to anything he loved and I would introduce him to the beautiful magical world of music. Simple, he knows how the guitar works, and how melodies are put together, and so as long as he knows what a song sounds like he can put together in his mind the way it's constructed and easily play the required progressions. The science of magic. :)
He was on Friedman's show and they played random songs out their ass the whole time. Holy fuck I suffered an aneurysm trying to comprehend all the solos they kept playing.

Paul is an amazing guitar player.... But it´s also amazing his charisma and kindness..... It was just necessary he to play 5 or 6 chords and the people started to clap... He is so connected with the crowd,. And not to mention he is a great teacher too.. long live to Paul Gilbert
you know what would be interesting? If he would have played with Frank Zappa. Gilbert just seems to be able to do anything, and hes got a good sense of humor. wonder how that could have worked?
Forget the fact that his fingers are as fluid as water over the guitar, its that voice!!! That man just brought a whole other level to the definition of 'mellow'. Beautifully done, thanks so much for sharing!
Man - I've dug Pablo Gilberto since Frenzy, met him at a clinic during his pre-Mr. Big days, and everytime I hear him, his versatility amazes! He is not of this planet and he serves as a constant reminder of how much the rest of us suck on the guitar. Helluva dude!
The fact that he just tought about playing it right there and did it that well, even if its a famous hit song, it was awesome. He is one of the best musicians in the world, definately. WE LOVE YOU PAUL!
Paul Gilbert is the real deal.... A genuine individual and multifaceted/multitalented. He's not your typical plastic banana/arrogant type you might associate with successful musicians in the business. Hats off brother.
Paul is really super nice! I was at the VIP lesson of his gig! I was the first one who got to that place, and he actually came to me and said hi and stuffs to me :D I was speechless!!
He is soooooooooo good at this! Very nice voice, pro guitar, super cover-feeling and he's also a great performer! The way he stays cool, makes his performance just perfect! :)
Wow.. that was amazing. He know so many songs it's not even funny. Im guessing those fills and the solo were improvised, and they were simply awesome. The feel was perfect
totally agree. This is what art meant to be. I listen to music from many nation(japan, u.s, vietnam, africa, france, china...). I mainly play pop guitar but i'm also interested many other genres as well.
