Man this is the most unoriginal comment of all time and I see this popping up everywhere now,When someone is really good and famous and someone says I hope he makes it someday,Please stop its needs to stop,Its not funny.Tell me you didn't do this on the Ray Parker Jr Videos.
Just listen to how easily he does the Cathedral thing @ 4:30 That little bit he played took me weeks of practice to get nice a fluid and musically sounding. He does it just as a little example piece and it's flawless. He's such a talent.
After having watched a ton of Paul Gilbert videos, the most bonkers thing about him, even after all of his technical skill and overall radness, is the absolutely unmatched musical memory this guy has. It seems like he can play every song he's ever heard, and a bunch he hasn't. There's no barrier between his ear and his head and his hands -- he just is like "oh I heard this once, it goes sort of like this" and then he plays the whole fucking solo.
I just got the Flashback a couple of weeks ago and I was just playing with the tone print setting. Stumble upon with this video was a nice surprise. This guy is amazing, now I have to try Gilbert's setting!
Why isn't this tone print available for the triple delay? Or is it available for the triple delay? I have the flashback triple delay. A lot of the tone prints I want are not available on it. I really want this one and I can only find it on the flashback but not the flashback triple delay. Can I beam it to my triple delay? And what about all of the modes on the alter ego are they tone prints that you can get for the triple delay? Please just answer the first question at least I want to use this tone print. But I have the triple delay, make it happen please. Thank you
Love this... Can you please explain how I get this EXACT sound on my tripple delay? The subdivisions are confusing, as well as the whole process on the tripple delay. On my corona mini its a breeze.... PLEASE HELP
Kind of reminds me of the sound used by Montrose in "Razor King" by Gamma. I love the Pat Thrall reference. His solo in "Heat in the Street" is top shelf.
Is he running this pedal in the loop in this video? Or in the front of the amp? i know that he normally runs his pedals all in front of the amp but it sounds pretty smooth with the gain sound in this video
Thank you Mr. Gilbert! That is an awesome Toneprint! You are The man! Also, Torre let us know when you get to New York we would like to connect with you about t.c. Electronic future products!
Robert Allpress did you see the interview with lee at andertons? He pretty much says that, and displays it well through the interview. It's good viewing
If i beam the Tone Print of Paul in the Pedal, where should be the Note Knob (quarter/Dotted..etc) ??? Generell i ask myself this question to any tone print- what is the intended setting on the note knob.. In this video he do not have the Knob to tone Print..so its based on the 2029 as i see with Quarter note..but its sounds like 16th :))
They need to make a better flanger toneprint for the Dreamscape. The Flanger 2 is too saturated. No dry signal at all. I dont know how to customize one.
thanks. i guess so. he use a lot of Mojo. I got the TC; compressor, mojo, hof, corona, spark.. but unable to produce the magix that paul has... :( its more the user issue.. hahah
At least you're playing a decent guitar--an Ibanez; that's what I play. Can you get a ping pong effect from this pedal like the original??? Maybe in a tone print???
Tele Caster you should never "need" delay it just makes it sound a little better to the ears. less dry. it's not going to make you sound good unless you can already play. and btw i find that technical difficulties sounds better without delay so the picking is sharper.
"clever sixteenth notes?" great toneprint,- but what if you dont have the flashback? well heres the formula: (feedback=0 , because you only want ONE repeat for evry note you hit),- (volume:100 % , because you want the reprocuced note to sound as loud as the one you hit),- (delay time, in milisceconds, to the quotient of 45 dvided by the tempo: EXAMPLE: tempo 120 your delay time is .375 miliseconds( 45:120=.375) now play 8 notes and your device (maybe the tc nova system) will play when youre not. be aware that the first echo you will hear is after youve hit the second 8 notes, because, in musical terms, the first note you play is a dotted 8 note, and it will last for an 8 note + a 16 note. one of the very cool things about the flashback is precisely that theres a toggle switch where you can choose the dotted 8 notes, and apart from that you can choose the tempo you want by holding down the foot switch, so actualley, you dont really need the paul gilbert gaddavida toneprint:-) I´ll be making a youtube video of this if you are interested.
Take a look on Ebay, Gawen. Paul's worked with Ibanez for a long time and he has so many incarnations of his RG. I'm sure a white with faux F-holes and rosewood board was available at some point in the past :-)
I was thinking the same thing. Paul must be tired after all that TonePrinting. I know for all tempos it's not a dotted eighth, but the example he's citing in this video...
The delay is set to dotted 8th's to the tempo he was playing, but with one repeat and the wet of equal volume to the dry, it gives the illusion of 16th's. I think this is what he meant.
