Yes Thomas on drums n Pete Griffin on bass is a match made in heaven. Simply amazing musicianship all around. If one listens to all of Paul's work you can easily he is at a top tier level. Comparing him to others is like holding a handful of diamonds and insisting one is better than others. Just mho
Gilbert fan for 30 years now. Everytime I hear him play or just talk about music, it makes me smile. Love the J.C. Bach Gilberto Concerto excerpt. Totally didn't see that coming. Paul helps us all remember why the guitar is still very important today, and just as fun and rewarding as it ever was.
I understand what you mean. New Guitarists Throw them away no Chance vs Paul Gilbert. Paul Gilbert is something else. He Plays music in High End Form. 95 % of all Guitar Shredders Play fast To Show and impress with their Technique alone and their Speed. Because they dont have Taste and Creativity. In order To be an complete Guitarist You have to have Technique, Feeling and Emotion, Musical Ear and Taste To Play the right and the necessary Notes. As Example Steve Vai often plays Unnecessary Notes because he goes out of Inspiration . Thats a Lack of Taste. But its a Gift by God. You cant learn anything Everything by Theory. And Music is alive a Living Thing a World a Language. There is an Boundrie where Theory is not longer required or relevant. But you Need enough theory To reach that Point. The worst Thing you can do is using Music for Evil Purpose like Death Metal satanic Metal Techno violation in Rock Rap or Metal is NOT Music. Its a Violation against the Art of Music. Music needs To reach To Touch you To make you Think. And all of These 3 Things Paul Gilbert did To Me in this Live Performance. Thank you Paul.❤🎸
You have clearly never heard Anton Oparin Play. He's like young Paul Gilbert with more musicality and much better technique. He plays Paul Gilbert stuff like he wrote it. This is him at 14. He's much better now. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gXkQyTk3Hs4.html
I seen Buckethead like 6 times, very fortunate and lucky to see him, he played some of the best Guitar songs/ parts period I or many will ever here, he is a great, and yet Paul Gilbert is so so much better then him even, that's how stupid good Gilbert is. Literally no one compares in terms of all time speed/technique/ cleanness/ and musicianship.
Paul is a machine!!!! Sound great!! Always perfectly in tone, and you can listen every single note very clearly even if he plays super fast. Absolutely fantastic.
I personally was on one of Paul's VIP sessions on the 2013 european tour and it is one of my life's most important experiences and memories. He is 100% as nice a dude as he seems - first we jammed with Paul at the venue bar and then when we put our guitars away, he just hung out with us and we talked about this and that. And of course we hung out at the soundcheck as well.
anyone who plays guitar should watch this video. is there really any other guitarist who's as clean, precise and thoroughly enjoys playing a guitar as much as Paul Gilbert? so many great players in the world, but Paul has to be top 3. no effects or tricks just fretboard mastery!
I was at Pauls Birthday bash at the Brighton gig and I was less than 10 feet away from the band. The power and energy that came from these guys was beyond amazing. Paul is just brilliant.
I went to this gig. The sound at the venue was freaking amazing and Paul sounded as crisp as usual. I even got to take a picture with him at the end of the show! It was an awesome day :D
@@Frip36 it's produced in other cities of my country (whose spelling is Colombia), so I wouldn't know. It's also all sent to other countries, so you would have to ask those living in first world countries who buy and consume it. Not sure how that's related to Paul, though, but well, maybe this was useful information anyway. 🤓
@@Frip36 That's right! Although it wasn't a huge venue, many of us fans attended the gig this video is taken from. He's a well respected musician over here, and he has come with Mr Big a couple of times as well. 😁
@@acgm046 I'm told it's better in Latin America. They concentrate on the Mexican market. Certain small towns where living standard and education is poor. So I was wondering if they targeted other Latin American countries.
