Paul Hebert describes his vision for a DNA-based biodiversity monitoring system. He founded the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics (CBG) at the University of Guelph in Canada. The CBG's research team is developing the technologies and research infrastructure to build a system that will help society manage and protect biodiversity on Earth.
In 2020, Hebert received the MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity and dedicated his award to supporting DNA analysis for developing countries.
