its so funny how howard got so triggered by keating, but then keating would always single him out for attacks for that purpose, maybe also because he could see him returning as leader one day.
All politicians need to be held accountable for their decisions. Otherwise, they will keep lying to the Australian public. They need to give a yes or no answer. And to be held accountable
The Recession we had to have was como Keating ratifying The Lima Declaration; In 1975, the Whitlam government signed the United Nations Lima Declaration, through which the Australian government sold out Australian industries and workers by specifically agreeing to transfer manufacturing to Third World countries, supposedly to help them develop. He sold you me & everyone else out! @@Will-nb8qk
I notice the Speaker made Wilson Tuckey one of the tellers for the noes and can't help but chuckle when you remember what Keating thought of him "Flat out counting past ten"... LOL
Keating was entertaining and absolutely hilarious when he'd get Howard to bite over and over again and why did Howard get triggered. I'd vote for Keating irrespective of his policies after all it doesn't really matter who's in power the country is run by the banks and the multinationals.
Public disorder is a criminal offence for anyone else in Australia. If they cant act in a reasonably orderly manner in OUR parliament they should be arrested and charged with public disorder offence. That'll shut 'em up!
@@gregrudd6983If you have a look at the video again you will see a rabble on both sides interjecting and carrying on like a school yard. In fact it was embarrassing to see the Priminister replying to the question over the noise.. I say again that your parochial one eye was unable to view the scene objectivity. For your information I enjoy seeing Paul Keating in debate. Don't let us be like America is now unable to see anything other than on party lines. I will endeavour in future to join the dots up for you more clearly and not leave it for you to arrive at the wrong conclusion. For the record I am not some rusted on Liberal. Have a good Christmas. I’m conflicted by Paul as he was the architect of a recession that put many into hardship. But his actions laid he groundwork for our prosperity many years later. He was very good at needling hia political opponents.
Howard was the cowards hero. It’s the tragedy of the late 20th century, that Keating wasn’t a dictator for life. Rarely has political life had such intricate intelligence and national interest displayed. Of course, a country will get what it deserves, and Australia didn’t ultimately deserve Keating.
@@randomsomeguy156 Sorry to disappoint, I am not a liberal voter, my family have always voted Labor but with the likes of Keating, Rudd, Gillard & now Albanese they have soured the pot tremendously.
Who said nasty truths. Stupidity and conservative spiltefulness should always be given the contempt it deserves. Go and read the hansards between 1946 and 1949 where you will read the difference in the debating styles between Menzies and Jack Lang Jack Lang in comparison to Menzies was as direct as Paul Keating.
How does Keating deserve the honorific Honourable in his title? He was one of the worst PM"s we have ever had and there was nothing honourable about him.
Tim fisher always carried a shit load of paper work to look important, fisher was terrified of Keating 😂. Fisher was a corrupt thief anyway. Honestly what women would marry john Howard 😂.
keating using the word "integrity" what a joke............... I have never heard him say a nice thing about anyone or anything.. Im sure he may have.. the worst thing is that he thinks he's funny.. I suppose its not hard to amuse the level of ineptitude on his bench, I'm sure half of them now have a job as directors of some truck company.. John howard - another Keating lie... enough said.
@@kevinhisee4816 By telling the truth. Remember John Howard earned the expression "Honest John" Not because he told the truth but because he didn't. He earned the term "Honest John" in the first budget after the "Fist full of dollars election" Perhaps you should research that. You seem to forget that it was Kerry Packer and Kerry Stokes who rehabilitated Howard in 1995 after dabbling in racism in 1988. Over deals with pay TV and the cross media ownership laws.
Wasted the mining boom, set the course of home prices outgrowing wages we see today, grew inequity, left us in a structural deficit. 11 wasted years under Howard.
@Scott F, Wasted the mining boom?? Labor killed it. If you want to share in mining boom (or any other boom) you either invest in it or work in it, everything else kills it. And did.
@@PaulBKal 11 years of neglect. Those proceeds from the mining boom could have been used to spend on infrastructure. Instead Howard wasted it all on tax cuts to buy votes. IMF calls him the most profligate government in Australian history. You can't make this up
I kinda liked my tax cuts. It was my money to start with and governments never spend it very wisely. I’d much rather them buy votes by giving me my money back than wasting it on pointless government programs to not solve non problems to buy votes virtue signalling.
@@myusername2607 Err, I am Australian and I live in a mining community. I lived and breathed Labor’s “super profits tax” which killed the mining boom. This is my real lived experience, not some abstract theory. You telling me it’s not is like telling a woman she hasn’t been sexually abused. In both cases, we know what happened to us.
