Honestly, the commentary in all these matches is gold. They keep you engaged even during the setups and when nothing much is happening. I would definitely want to see Derek and Coach Ray commentate for East vs West 4 as well
North America has had a great showing the last two events, disproving the idea that their "hobbyists" are way behind the East. They have basically split all the matches, and are getting better. More importantly, this is pushing both sides to come out of the woodwork for pride, for serious competition, but also to have lots of fun. These guys are all brothers no matter where they come from; competitors, yes, but brothers. Guys suffering losses want to learn from it, build up and come back. Guys getting wins want the next challenge. Derek and Ray made for perhaps the best commentary duo we have seen. Thank you, Engin!
@Prototype Eye Samushia even at 78 kg had wins on 105 kg guys, this is still an impressive win for Paul and a good opening match for him in the wider world. While I agree Paul would lose to Prudnyk and probably Tsonev, I could see him beating Sasho mainly because Paul has a strong initial drag hit and Sasho doesn’t really have the best defense in the world, so if Paul gets him on his bicep right away Sasho could be in trouble (ex. Zoloev, Kocak, Spartak). That said, Prudnik also comfortably swamped Morozov, who’s 20 kg heavier than him, so saying Paul would lose to him is true but not really representative of his standing in the wider world.
Congratulations Paul on the win!!!!!! This is the best commentating duo Arm Wrestling has ever seen! Love how good a mood Derick Smith is in and how he is having fun even after losing a match. Guy does have a hell of a future in the sport.
Great match, first time seeing Davit he is really good. Happy for Paul Linn have a lot of love and respect for him he's both a great puller and great human.
In Round 2, Davit pushed Paul without exactly pinning him and the referees give him the win. BUT in Michael Todd's match, the referees did not give Michael the win when Michael did like davit
Paul is one of my fav "new gen" arm wrestlers. He's been pulling for quite a while now but he's still considered part of the "new guard." This is easily the biggest stage he's pulled on and this victory shows how much he's leveled up. Used to watch him dominate in regional tournaments back in the day and became an even bigger supporter seeing him train in the gym to Talib Kweli songs.
Paul Linn is the best 165 lb. arm wrestler on the planet. In fact, he might want to consider pulling someone who isn’t 30 pounds lighter. Sweet guy, too.
So happy for Paul. He is a great dude and deserves a win. Also a true warrior. I'm not taking anything from Davit of course. This match was a true battle.
