@@EnjoyLife-sg3kt Brodie starts a sentence with and. His punctuation is terrible. Yet you prey on the mistakes of someone just asking a question. Please be kind.
@@strangexgiant5950 You know what, you're right. I truly love the disc golf community. I'm not sure what got into me. I hope everyone is having a good week thus far.
The way sports are these days its so nice to see mutual respect and professionalism displayed, I think Paul is someone even the best players and even his peers can still be a fan of and cheer for and dream of competing against . Have a great year Brodie!
@@alexschmidt7995 I really don’t doubt it lol...he’s working hard to stay fit and his age may lose distance but his mid game and putting will only get better and his putting already has a edge on everyone on earth especially clutch putting
@@slimetime4668 There are a couple locals that can still bomb 500+ into their 40's... and they for sure don't take care of themselves the way Paul has been. I think the real threat are the new up-and-comers more than aging in the next decade.
Shoutout to Paul and Discraft for announcing the term and amount. There’s money to be made, hope to continue to see better and better athletes playing.
If only some of the money went to production. Discraft missed the boat this year on new players and from what I was told could be another year before ordering returns to normal
@@melb6143 they added multiple new molding machines and run around the clock. All the manufacturers are behind on production. Although that's not just in disc golf, many industries are trying to catch up on producing goods.
Paul is freaking awesome....but I hope he worked it in to renegotiate in a few years....because with how the sport is growing, and Paul’s draw he’s going to making them a lot of money...not that he shouldn’t be happy with 10 mil, but there’s a reason discraft is paying him that
I mean in 5 years he probably doesn’t want to be having to prove himself to be worth a million a year. It would be easy for it to be a subject each year. Now, nobody is thinking anything but discraft and paul. I think it works out on both sides. Even if disc golf gets way bigger, he’s making more money with foundation and playing and other ventures. This is literally just for the discs he throws. He makes a lot of money from other stuff besides his disc deal
@@austinthrowsstuff I know but it’s also about not getting the short end of the stick, you don’t want to make a company 50+mil a year off your name and only take home 1, and it’s not about proving himself, Paul’s going to be playing at a high level for a long time he’s a competitor and as long as he can feel good playing he’s going to play there’s a reason he’s been busting his ass in the gym and diet
Paul’s smart and it’s hard to critique a deal that is so far beyond what anyone else has gotten. A rising tide raises all boats. Just like Lebron, Trout, or Rodgers setting salary records then quickly seeing other (usually not as game breaking) players get the same or more $ is great for the sport. Now hopefully we see them do something similar with Paige soon and really shake things up by paying a female athlete well! She really does move plastic better than most MPO players in my opinion.
I can’t find any disc with the PM stamp in Colorado lol infinite disc is the same way...he’s bringing in new players like myself and gotta be making discraft big $$$$
He'll probably outgrow this extension by 2025. Discgolf is going to get a lot bigger and he is one of the main reasons for it. Congrats and well deserved Paul!
I met Paul at 2019 Am Worlds. He was hanging out with the foundations guys selling discs. I started a casual conversation about some of the Virginia courses down there and it was like chatting with any disc golfer anywhere. like just another buddy you play a round with. I bought a disc, got it signed, took a photo. Super professional yet just another guy. Thanks Paul.
What a freakin legend. To see his humble beginnings and how he continues that mindset is what I wish we could see out of more people in the world. It's cool to see Paul find his voice over the last few years - he knows he has to speak up and be on camera but he does it in such a way that is really endearing and acts as a true role model. So well deserved!
Man, I love this. Congrats to Paul and Discraft, and I’m thankful to be one of the many involved in this growing sport! Nice to see encouraging comments here as well. And great video production. The future holds so much for an already rewarding sport. We are lucky!
Great guy and deserves it all! So interesting how many greats come from difficult childhoods that drive them to prove they're worthy. Hope he has peace internally to enjoy where he's gotten to.
Very proud of Paul. Was great to hear the story of his transition from baseball to disc golf, and so glad that he had an outlet for those competitive juices. Boy did The Fates smile down upon him.
everything shot in this video. the roller rink i would hang out with friends. the baseball fields, there use to be a pre school there i went to. I had friends at Huntington high. So weird to see all this on youtube. I grew up in this exact environment. Hoods and all. I am 33 so around Paul's age.
Super happy for Paul and disc golf in general but damn this mini doc left us hanging at the most interesting part. Paul: I didn't have many friends, didn't make the baseball team, then disc golf...skip to him having 5 world titles. Like wtf gimme dat origin story!!!!!
My biggest hope is that this deal and level of transparency pushes other companies to make similar moves. Major props to Paul and Discraft for stepping up and taking the lead in the movement that should take disc golf to the next level professionally.
This is fantastic! Thank you for the wonderful production and such a huge motivating perspective. I've watched Paul since before his first title, and he deserves this. I've been playing for 21 years this summer and have always wanted to be serious about the game. Instead, I chose a life dedicated to business and have set myself up for a big annual salary, but very little happiness. This is motivating on so many levels as I consider disc golf the most enjoyable sport on the planet. I also grew up poor, with the "nothing is given, everything is earned" attitude branded in me; I suppose it's time for a change...
I loved the mini doc style of this announcement. I would have gladly watched a video with even more life details. Great job on the release and kudos for an amazing contract extension!
@@jeremyboyd5608 I'm a football sports agent for players and companies, think I'm pretty clued in. I don't have anything against Paul, think he's amazing, but watching this sport that I've played for many years not manage the growth properly is tough to see
@@adamc2837 Don't worry, all the posts you've made on this video definitely show you hold your opinion in the highest esteem. People have different opinions though, and I'm sure Discraft feels as though this is a good move for them. Time will tell.
W E L L D E S R V E D. I can’t think of a better, more humble ambassador for Discraft and disc golf in general. Keep doing what you do Paul! I am buying Lunas and Zeus’s because of you and Discraft knows what they got!
Paul's transition to disc golf and focus on his craft was a direct result of not making the HS baseball team. It's an excellent example of adapting to changing factors in life. Sometimes, what appears to be a bad thing can be the catalyst for something better.
Congratulations and well deserved. Now wrap your head around this. At most tournaments he is playing for $4K if he wins and if he is aggressive and misses some shots, he may only win $2K. Given this contract, tournaments are for competition only. He will be relaxed, loose, focused and that is freaking scary if I am trying to compete with him. McBeast mode activated, watch out 2021.
Nah I don't think he ever played with that mindset. If anything I think this will add more pressure, which I actually think is a good thing for someone like Paul.
"Largest contract in disc golf history" Well it's the only contract that details have been released on... make it normal to disclose contract values for players.
it doesn't behoove the business to disclose employees pay, otherwise they might unionize(in some sense) and demand more as a collective. better to prop up one or two token players as what people could achieve and short change the bulk of the workforce. Because it would only benefit the players themselves and not the businesses that pay them to disclose payments, they keep it simple. imagine a Paul McBeth that demanded more for not only himself because of his brand name, but for the new players under the Discraft sponsorship? or any sponsorship for that matter.
Baaaaaaaa-aaa-aaa! The GOAT. Then. Now. Forever! Congrats to Paul and Discraft! Great that contract details are public to help other players gets their maximum worth as well.
An amazing story and worth the time. Discraft and Innova each have 2 discs that are my workhorses and are always in my bag. Innova has the years, Discraft has the talent right now...be a tough decision for me to have to part with 2 discs.lol
Shout out to discraft for truly knowing how to market...great marketing team and happy for Paul getting what he’s worked hard for and deserves...joining discraft was a great decision, as it was discraft to work to get him signed
Heck yeah! Congrats Paul! I am so excited for what this is saying about the future of the sport! I knew disc golf was going to get bigger, but this is fast! 😂
Very cool, I loved seeing the little walk down memory lane before announcing the largest contract in Disc Golf history! Hopefully this will drive the market like in the other professional sports.
Great little piece you put out here! Like to think Jomezpro and all of the past media coverage also helped tip the hand a little as well. Without them the world may have never known who PMcB was.
DUH-NUH-NUH! DUH-NUH-NUH! This alone deserves a top 10 ESPN highlight. You know you’re the goat when, you reveal you’re contract deal before the first pro-tour event letting everyone know that they will not be winning any World Titles for the next 10years! 🐐🐐🐐😂👏🏽👏🏽💯💯💰💰
