I agree totally, because I´m a great fan of him and his work, but I would like to suggest that artists like Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, Bob Dylan, David Gilmour, Mick Jagger and a few others might come close to him when it comes to longevity, musical persistance and influence. They might not have his popularity and broad spectrum, but they are also beasts and artists in their own worldwide bubble.
Sir Paul McCartney is one of the greatest musicians of our time, the entire world loves his music, long live the Beatles for their inspiration in my life. RIP Linda
The Lovely Linda, she was a good woman and a beautiful human being, i am still saddened by her and Princess Dianas passing. The world is a sadder place without them.
I am proud to say that I am a product of this concert. Both of my parents met here as single individuals. They did the deed and here I am today. Fun fact: they both appear in this video. (Also they are married to this day so I’m not a complete ba$terd lol)
Wow, this may be the best I’ve heard, but I will try to match this . My wife and I had front row tickets for U2 (I know it’s not the Beatles ) the band was fabulous and I love bono but the edge wearing his muscle t-shirt was the best
@@alexandersalmas21 , no, it's "awake". Yes, some lyric sources show "await", and some show "awake". But just listen to Paul. Also, Phil Collins, Steven Tyler and others, who have covered it on RU-vid. Look up Elizabethan poet Thomas Dekker, and his poem from 1603.
1603, poet Thomas Dekker: "Golden slumbers kiss your eyes, Smiles awake you when you rise; Sleep, pretty Waltons, do not cry, And I will sing a lullaby, Rock them, rock them, lullaby. Care is heavy, therefore sleep you, You are care, and care must keep you; Sleep, pretty Waltons, do not cry, And I will sing a lullaby, Rock them, rock them, lullaby."
Thank you sobpositive well said what an amazing relationship they shared . .. Music is so very powerful & her influence so powerful !! Just seeing everyone singing along is so awesome ☆○○°~||▪︎♡《》/< >
For me the Medley always starts with Mean Mr Mustard Polythene Pam & She Came.. Bathroom Window, but being part Lennon bits we can't have that with McCartney PLC. The drum solo here wasn't the best.
@@seltaeb9691 Golden slumbers is brilliant..She came bathroon window is one of the Paul best song....carry that weight and the end are very good...The perfect final for theirs last album..
The Beatles songs never fade, its really a timeless hit over the years, how I miss to see Sir Paul McCartney perform in person! A real music genius, and artist of all time!
Grew up loving Sir Paul and his Beatles family, then Wings, and his solo albums. To be able to see this performance with Linda and their band is profound. Thank you.
Paul McCartney with Linda McCartney were performing Paul's the 3 greatest song masterpieces medley in 1989 world tour concerts. What a the greatest genius ! ... What a the miracle ! ♥️♥️🌎👍
The Beatles final statement to the world. They were much more than they thought they were. Thanks to Paul and Ringo for what they have done for the generations
What a treat we all have this footage to enjoy. I saw McCartney live and it was awesome! So rare that a musical genius was in a band with 3 other musical geniuses!

Once there was a way to get back homeward Once there was a way to get back home Sleep pretty darling do not cry And I will sing a lullaby Golden Slumbers fill your eyes Smiles awake you when you rise Sleep pretty darling do not cry And I will sing a lullaby Once there was a way to get back homeward Once there was a way to get back home Sleep pretty darling do not cry And I will sing a lullaby Boy, you're gonna carry that weight Carry that weight a long time Boy, you're gonna carry that weight Carry that weight a long time I never give you my pillow I only send you my invitations And in the middle of the celebrations I break down Boy, you're gonna carry that weight Carry that weight a long time Boy, you're gonna carry that weight Carry that weight a long time Oh yeah, all right Are you gonna be in my dreams Tonight And in the end The love you take Is equal to the love you make
That is so true. Ringo just never did have a solo. He never had a "Moby Dick" like John Bonham, the late legendary Led Zeppelin drummer or a thunderous opening to "Hot For Teacher" like Alex Van Halen
Don’t you mean *Mister* Harrison? George Harrison was actually a male. You can look it up if you don’t believe me. It’s on the interwebs and everything.
Hamish Stuart (short-cropped blond, formerly of Average White Band) and Robbie McIntosh (former of The Pretenders) were pretty accomplished in their own right, and very ably fronted the Paul McCartney Band in the late '80s and through the '90s.
I love❤this song and dedicated to my mom who passed long time ago...In my dreams she always told me you gonna carry that weight,,you gonna carry that weight.💒💒💒🌷🌷🌷
People sometimes forget what a great guitarist he is. His lead lines in the Beatles tunes are epic. Neither The Beatles or Paul were into ‘guitar solos’ like so many bands were into,, but almost every humbucking distortion wailing line in a Beatles song is Paul. George preferred a clean sound especially in the early days. Paul is such a flat out genius, he developed quickly and used every possible setting & sound combination you could make with a guitar. I’m thinking the solo in Taxman. Recorded in April 1966!! I mean seriously!
