OH YES! This is one of my absolute very favorite Wings songs! McCartney's vocal is so POWERFUL and SOULFUL one of his best live performances! This is McCartney in his VOCAL PRIME! Again I WAS THERE!
It's hard to really say when his vocal prime was. There are a few 80's performances that are unbelievable and "Long Tall Sally" in the mid 60's is ridiculous!! This is pretty damn amazing though
I played this song so many times I wore grooves into the grooves. Went to the concert and bought the album. Still have my ticket $8.50. Cincinnati Ohio
As I picked up with your McCartney journey a bit later (You had just started Red Rose Speedway when I discovered your channel), I decided to listen to the songs in chronological order other than upload date order, so I listened to your McCartney review before the Ram one (Which was the first for you), then jumped to Wild Life and reconnected with your schedule around the final tracks of Red Rose Speeway. Now that you and Antoine have finished with Wings At The Speed Of Sound I jumped back to your reaction to Wings Over America, so I'm watching your videos right now. All of this to say that it's been quite a while since I last listened to Wings Over America and this particular version of Call Me Back Again (I am more of a "studio" guy when it comes to someone's discography), but I have to say that this particular performance is much much better than what I remember, and it's great to revisit the album with you. As soon as I'm done with your WOA reactions I will rekindle with you for the London Town listening sessions (I love that album)
That's cool. It'll give us time to finish putting those out and you can binge it. haha I didn't really have a focused plan when I first started doing this. I think somebody like you or @strathman7501 or @7bestthings or @markydh83 or @aBeatleFan4ever or @thumbsaloft or someone else who hangs out here suggested the chronology and I went with that. Thanks for being a part everybody! I'm learning a ton.
The "Venus and Mars' album is full of very good tracks - and "Call Me Back Again" is one of them. Paul loves to do a screamer track... and he's very good at it.
