Glenn Hoddle is a Christian. He believes in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ - when you share this belief the world will call you crazy. The Truth is that Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Believe in Jesus and you will be saved.
@@seanscanlon9067 OR 10 man england couldnt put out a mediocre argentine team! honestly the arrogance to say they would have won the world cup when they didnt even make it to the quaters is astounding! even the english women won a major before the men ever could again lol
@@roobear78 Funny how that apparently mediocre Argentina were FIFA ranked #6 in the world at the time, and please feel free to explain how a 10 man team has the advantage to play to the full time whistle and then extra time against an 11 man team. Er lol.
@@seanscanlon9067 please feel free to explain how you can say "we would have won the world cup" when you couldnt even progress to the quaters with all those mega superstars in the team lol! by the way argentina were ranked 5th!!! and got put out by a team ranked 8th!!!
@@roobear78 Please feel free to explain where I said "we would have won the world cup". And what part of the claim did you not quite understand for you to keep going on about England could not even progress to the quarters? Wasn't Merson saying he thought England could have won it overall if they had got passed Argentina, which would have put them in the quarters anyway? Argentina were FIFA ranked 6th before the '98 world cup started and then moved up to 5th, although 5th helps my argument even more if the 5th ranked team with 11 players could not beat a 10 man England in full and then extra time. As for Argentina being put out, they were so by The Netherlands and they have always been a decent team and their squad included van der Sar, Reiziger, Stam, Frank de Boer, Ronald de Boer, Seedorf, Cocu, Overmars, Davids and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The Netherlands won 2-1 with goals from Bergkamp and Kluivert after Argentina went down to 10 men on the 88th minute at 1-1 and yet could not hold out for two minutes, compared to England's 10 men doing so for an hour, so proving my point really.
Love this Story Awesome made me proper laugh. I'm very very spiritual to so I know where Glenn Hoddle was comeing from that day and how them word's would of helped you Merson you legend lol. He has a knack like Redknapp of telling a good story
We would have won the WC that year. Ummm! Nah Merse. That Holland team was no joke. Then you'd have had Ronaldo's Brazil in the semis and Zidane's France in the final.
I normally think that Merson although a bloody great player, is a tool on Sky sports. Comes across as thick as a whale sandwich. However, loved this spiel about his penalty stuff.
Why we got rid of Glenn Hoddle is crazy! Everyone has there own crazy beliefs and as long as not harmful to anyone or trying to force on anyone then it should not matter. People can and should be able to think what they want. People who tell people off fir controversial views are just as bad and controlling
If we had beaten the Argies on pens that night, then the Dutch would have ruined us in the next game. Bergkamp, Overmars, Kluivert and Zenden all in their prime.
I couldn't see us beating Brazil or France in '98 TBH. People make a lot of Le Tournoi in '97 but a WC final in Frances back yard is another matter. 2002 is another matter though. But for a bit of luck with injuries with Gerrard and Neville we could have won that one.
Do between the lot of you, you think you should've won the lot and would've if it hadn't been for bad luck. I'm sure the deluded from every other nation feel exactly the same
@@liamjohnson7887Don't think so mate, who were the strikers? Owen was out injured, Rooney was barely fit, and Crouch was inconsistent. The rest of the squad was class. Just think if Defoe or Bent had been selected it would have been different.
"Ah com on in'a GAYME". "Penool'is" Seriously there's way too many millionaire's walking around out there that don't even have a full school education... this guy clearly never went to college or even finished high school... it's ridiculous, it's shocking that 8th graders are literally able to get high results in spelling tests and math questions than these fully grown adults who're out in the world... HOW is this possible?>??
Clearly you have zero comprehension about the roots of the game , ok so to educate you a bit Mr Quaqmire most ( as in the majority ) of players came from poor working class background and they started ( less so now ) their football life at an early age forsaking the shitty schools that they attended ergo lack of the 3 R's , but they earned a lot of money because of the simple fact of supply and demand. Mers and others like him had the talent ( football intelligence, fitness and mental strength ) to raise there game to the highest standard they could ( club and country ) ... Now can you with your high intellect and education say you have even reached your potential or achieved anything in comparison to what Mers' has? ...
Mark Williams If we had won the group, which we surely should have done : we’d have been in the easy half of the draw and been in the Final for sure and we all know what happened to Brazil in the Final don’t we.
I've always said it, master of the game. The way he played too. The media jumped on him and stole his career. Wouldn't have happened in any other country.
Arsenal went to Anfield almost a decade earlier in 1989 needing to win by a two goal margin to claim the first division league title and played with a back five that included Adams, Bould and O'Leary.
You should have been brought on 15 mins earlier. I could not understand why when a man down he did not bring you as you on immediately as you could control midfield and aid attack.
