He was streaks ahead of his time. Without a doubt in today's era his chess brain would have adapted accordingly to achieve super GM status. He could play all night winning every game convincingly against the best in his day without faltering.
Love the way Paul Morphy played such a class player and light-years ahead of everyone else around him in his day and most of these kings gambit lines really show how important the centre pawns are as a pawn duo and with good centre control white is able to totally suffocate black when played in Morphy fashion 😊
Wow ! What a brilliant series of games by the wonderful Paul Morphy. His play is fearless, creative, and joyful. He totally dominates the initiative, and doing so he demonstrates the futility of playing for material advantage.
Game 4: Paul Morphy vs Charles Amedee Maurian, New Orleans 1858.This game is wrong in the endgame, mate occurs with the rook of king, simply because the rook on a1 has never been there. In this game Morphy grants the advantage of rook a1 to Maurian. In fact Maurian has never played on par with morphy he always received advantages or rook or knight or pawns and move etc. One other thing to note about Morphy's game is that he always activated all pieces he would never leave a piece stationary. Taken from the databases they are full of errors it is better to extrapolate the games from the books, even if they contain errors they are not as gross as in completely unreliable databases
Seriously I could watch these videos for hours, I just need more 😭😂 Is there a reason you cam only upload on Sundays? I know these probably take a lot of time to make and you have to a have a job but please maybe 2 a week soon?
Game 5: Paul Morphy vs T. Knight, New Orleans 1856 the video of this game has to be redone completely, as some considerations you have made are not possible as in this game Morphy gave the advantage of rook a1+knight on b1. Friend, I already told you about the unreliability of consulting the databases for the games. In particular, since I've been researching all the Morphy games for more than 3 years, I can confirm that the Morphy databases are full of errors.
Well.he wouldn't hold up to any Top 20 Player in the Kasparov Era with this type of play.in the current new generation of players,he wouldn't hold up even in the top 500.his games are fun to watch though
