I also have a vague memory I've heard it in a TV-Series like "Nikita" or "Alias" from early '00s. Great classic along with "Southern Sun" on the same vinyl! 👌👏👏
Imagine being the age you are now back in that period. Imagine the stuff you could have done. I was in highschool so I still enjoyed it. But damn there was a lot of opportunity then. (and it was coming back until 2 months ago when all this shit started 😐)
Best fucking period for everything..i am 25 and i wish to travel back in time and live permanently in those years late 90's and the beginning of the 2000's
For me it's been like 18 years, since I first saw The Bourne Identity. Just rewatched Collateral tonight and thought whoooooa that's the Bourne chase song!
The sound engineering is brilliant considering it was 99 , they had no where near the DAW power we have today, and nonetheless I can imagine the mixdown on this track was so intense it probably had the studio techs pulling hair
@@joshuanorris5092 well it's not really difficult to recreate many of these sounds. They are used in very creative ways in the song, but the sounds themselves are just saw waves with resonance, distortion, and phasing. Pretty common at the time I'd say.
@@joshuanorris5092 that's exactly what im thinking, holy fuck sound design for those times is something out of this world, i still cannot recreate the main "rave pluck" sound
Paul and a few others were always amazing at making due with what they had. Crystal clear production and flawless in layering. No weird noticeable gaps in loops or sounds, etc
When I was a kid I always waited for this song to come on the radio, and just when it started I recorded it with a small tape recorder, by bringing its mic to a speaker. Good times.
THAT is how I recorded The Dukes of Hazard! My Dad's dictaphone, in front of the TV Speaker! LOL! And then, re-living the Episode all that week! No Video, but I have my Mind's-Eye! Officer Cletus! Derrka, Du-du, Gotta Get Dem Duke Boys! Then Boss Hogg would 'roll' in. LOL
When I think car chase music, I think Ready, Steady, Go by Paul Oakenfold. No other song IMO captures the thrill, the suspense, tension and swift speed of a movie chase as perfect as this song does.
Another good one for that imo is Right Here, Right Now by Fatboy Slim...I first heard it on the first epsiode of a show called Third Watch, they played it during a scene with a coppa chasing a someone. The credit song was Keep Hope Alive by The Crystal Method. Another good one. 🖤🎶
The car chase scene in The Bourne Identity and nightclub scene in Collateral. I miss the early 2000’s :( I’m just glad we have the music, movies, and video games to go back to. These movies, plus Minority Report and many others, The Crystal Method, GTA Vice City really bring me back.
i think i first heard this song on like Tigerwoods 2003 PGA tour or something like that lol. Might also have been a Need for Speed TBH was 20years ago. But what a time!
You guys are joking right? The entire trilogy is one of the best trilogies ever made, let alone best action film trilogy. Name one action trilogy that's better, I dare you
Overhemd what about Planet of the apes reboot trilogy, Indiana Jones trilogy & John wick trilogy. The Bourne identity is an awesome good movie with great action scenes, direction, plot, performances & plot twists. The Bourne supremacy is a bad movie with the excessive shaky-cam, fast cuts and I hate the plot. Killing the girl from the first movie and change director for more shitty shaky cam The Bourne ultimatum is better than the second but in my opinion isn’t better than the first, ok there are more excellent action sequences and set pieces, even with the shaky cam. But in this case, in this movie, the fast cuts and the shaky cam actually work really decent. Especially the rooftop chase and fight scene or the scene at the station. Or even the car chase. The Bourne legacy as a good premise and also a couple of good scenes but isn’t necessary and didn’t work as well as ultimatum or identity. But supremacy is still a better movie than legacy. Because legacy is actually a boring movie with only 1 or 2 good action scenes. Now with Jason Bourne the franchise is dead. I love the return of Matt Damon, but the movie feel soo much unnecessary and with a bad plot, about his dad and even more bad shaky cam and fast cuts. The worst of all. The most darker. In my opinion the Bourne identity is the best because of less shaky cam in action sequences and best plot. Just a guy who want know who he is. With a good actress for Bourne and villain. And secondary villain. Doug Liman I love him. Ultimatum the second best. But you can’t say the Bourne series is the best action trilogy of all time. There are soo many others
In my car, and every car since this came out, I have 1 CD labeled "POLICE CHASE" with only this song as a track and it's there just in case I'm in a pursuit of any kind. So if I'm ever your Uber driver and I suddenly put this in, shit's about to get sideways....**UPDATE** I recently purchased a newer GTI Turbo with a little extra HP and this is now programmed into my sound system and ready at a simple touch of a screen. This is gonna be expensive.
I couldn't even remember where I'd heard this from, I just had "Ready Steady Go" and that badass melody in my head. At first, I thought it was in a video game. Now I know, it was in The Bourne Identity! That movie is 18 years old...Crazy how time flies.
I first heard it in The Bourne Identify and Collateral, but I also actually remembered it being in some video games from the early 2000’s too. I looked it up - from Wikipedia, “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003, DDR Ultramix, NFL Blitz Pro and Juiced.”
This is one of the coolest songs I’ve ever heard when I saw Collateral several years ago and I had to know who made this song and it’s like that feeling, so underrated because you never hear it or heard even before the movie came out! (Not sure if it was made for the movie). I just love it, nothing like it! 😉💖
*insert generic spy-thriller OST track* yeah, modern movie music isn't bad at all, in fact I love OSTs, but none of it stands so well alone and with such unique energy as this "older" stuff.
The soundtography in the freaking track is insane!!! The sound angles are just I cant. The skills to edit and create such a crazy sound is truly unbelievable. I aspire to edit like this one day!!
Two great movies featured this timeless track: The Bourne Identity (mini cooper police chase), and the epic shooting scene in the nightclub from Collateral. Now you know. ☺️✌️ #partyon
I watched Collateral for the first time a few months ago (I know, I know) and it made me fall in love with this song all over again, as I had somehow forgotten about it!
Great tune for an intense workout, stay off the energy drinks yo. Not much juices me like this jam/sheer madness. Got my spin instructor to play for a class. It went over well but everyone thinks I'm stoned.
