Singing like tis take real skills and not many plp in the world can do it. He deserves everything and I am happy he was able to show his skills to the world.

it's not often someone with such a god given talent is found. I have seen exactly one opera in my life and I still think Paul is one of the best talents I've ever seen in my life. Well done Paul.

We have a saying in Japan: "Luck is a part of one's ability". Maybe Paul Potts had it with him, but it just arrived later rather than earlier. I personally think it had arrived at the most perfect timing. The journey this man has taken along the way had probably benefitted him more than formal training.

Wish I had a voice of "such very low quality"! Paul sings with his heart, persisted for a long time through adversity when most would have given up. His anguish,pain,joy of singing and hope all come out in his voice. It's the man, not just the voice. He unassumingly gives of himself. I enjoy listening to him sing, and applaud him for his exceptional courage. We can only imagine what he would have been now if he had been trained all the way along. He has given us the gift of himself.

He is blessed with a great gift. I hope that they do not over sell him and wear him out. It's nice to see a little guy make it. I wish him success but that he keeps his humbleness. What a voice!

This world is full of talents weather it be in the entertainment industry , sports, business etc. Sometimes its all about catching a break, or being in the right spot at the right time. He got his break. He is a huge talent and good for him. :)

right place at the right time in history..all of us little people needed that and thanks Paul for giving us the chance to keep our dream alive. That is what this is all about. There are a ton of technically better singers, but what they might lack is the soul and the heart of a man who has been down most of his life and at this moment in time God gave him the chance to sing for us all and I hope he keeps his humility. Each time I watch Paul perform, I get butterflies in my stomach and I fall in love with him all over again like it's the first time I've watched him sing. I've never been googoly over a singer, But with Paul, as I watch him, he shakes my very core with his voice. When he's singing in New York on the street, it's like he's calling to the people to be passionate again, love deeply, don't be afraid to raise your voice to express your self. Say it! Sing it! Paul Potts is my new favorite singer.

I agree with bmunzz, It is art. I never thought that I would listen to opera. I found Paul Potts by accident on a youtube search and have followed his carreer since seeing his first audition which made the hairs on my arms stand up. Truly truly God given talent...

This guy really can sing, and he gives the audience their money's worth. There's a lot of snobbery in the opera world. Nobody can replace Pavarotti, but keep in mind, Potts does an amazing job, and didn't undergo years of musical training, which the singers usually do before they're allowed to sing this in an opera.

true, Paul has an AMAZING voice. he was definitly blessed. and he is using his voice, which is more than some people do, whitney houston was an amazing singer, but she took it for granted. paul will never do that, mark my words. Paul Potts will NEVER take what he has for granted. BECAUSE HE WORKED FOR THIS!! HE WILL NEVER TAKE HIS ABILITY TO SING FOR GRANTED!!!!

Between Paul and Susan, I think people need to get over the whole how they look! Talent doesn't always come in a perfect package, and it's the talent that matters, not the packaging. They both are fantastic singers, and I truly hope Susan does well on BGT. I don't remember how I stumbled onto Paul's audition a while back, but I fell in love with that voice the first time I heard it. I don't keep up with BGT, but saw a link through something my wife had sent me. As a fan of opera, Andrea Bocelli, Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo and more, I can honestly say Mr. Potts, you are masterful...and only at the dawn of your career. I can't wait to see where you go from here.

Prior to BGT, Paul spent two summers in Northern Italy at one of the most important opera training schools. His masters at schools where Vilma Vernocchi, Katia Ricciarelli and Luciano Pavarotti studied. He also had appearances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. At the Bath Opera, he has the roles of Don Basilia (The Marriage of Figaro), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) and the title role in Verdi's Don Carlos is sung. " Student of Vilma Vernocchi, Katia Ricciarelli and Luciano Pavarotti.

Not that he has the greatest voice ever, but it's not all about technique, he brings a reality and emotion to his singing that is fascinating.

It never fails to disappoint me when a person's words reveal a flawed thinking that ego equates to expertise. Generosity is a part of analysis and of living a good life. In whatever fashion you measure Paul's voice for the love of heaven, notice his courage and give credit for that. When was the last time you overcame terror to follow your dream? Take that lesson from this guy; it may change your life.

This site has more critics per heaad than most. Not one of his better videos, should log in to some of his recent ones. Australia loves Paul Potts. One very talented singer. I have seen him. I would like to see him again also.

For anyone to comment on this man's smile or his lacking of "Luciano style" because he "started too late" they miss the entire point. His voice is still beautiful. Paul had all the odds against him. He turned his life around by finally believing in himself and by following his dream. Now millions of people applaud the man AND his dream. There are people who graduate Julliard, Wharton, and Yale who will never be able to say that.

To all the haters--public ignorance doesnt make people watch his original appearance over and over tearing up every time granted he hasnt been able to match that level of intensity in subsequent performances but the first time in the dodgy suit was a triumph of the human spirit and one of the most amazingly inspirational things Ive ever seen and Im not easily impressed or ignorant Get a life
