I purchased this exact guitar a week ago from Sweetwater. The color is called Quilted Black Gold Sunburst. Absolutely beautiful guitar. It’s quite stunning. Couldn’t resist at the current price. It’s my first PRS. I’m not sure you can find a better guitar at this price…….. Nice review and great playing 🔥
Gorgeous finish on that guitar I must say. I just bought the SE CE 24 in vintage sunburst and I love it. It's my first PRS and I was blown away by how perfect everything was right out of the box. Frets were perfectly level and polished. Absolutely no buzzing anywhere. Even the intonation was done. It was the first guitar I have ever bought that didn't require me to do some sort of a set up or adjustment after buying.
Hi mate, how does the vintage sunburst finish look like ? Because I saw a few of these on reviews and photos and the sunburst looked very reddish to me, like the old PRS cherry sunburst
Yes you are right, it is more of a cherry sunburst, reddish orange on the edges. The top looks really good though. The flame maple pattern looks almost 3 dimensional. @@crapuleverte
I had this same feeling in 2009 when I bought my Ibanez RG350 in candy apple red. So good right out of the box. I’m planning on buying this custom 24 quilt in blood orange, hope it’s perfect
@@SergiOrtiz Nice, go for it you wont be disapointed. I'm an Ibanez guy myself and the PRS still feels so good in my hands. I've always liked thin neck fast playing guitars. The PRS neck although thicker than an Ibanez still fells really comfortable. It has a 42mm nut instead of 43mm like on an Ibanez. The 25 inch scale and 42mm nut makes for a nice compact feel and I find it very easy to move around the fretboard.
I got my first PRS only 1 year ago. I'm more a Jackson, Kramer or Fender guy, but since i got my PRS I must admit I've fallen "in love" with this brand. I'm planning to buy the same model you show, but I'm still hesitating between this color and the turquoise one. One thing's for sure, no matter what color it is, it'll never sing in my hands like you do. You're the best Marty.
My wife and I use to live out side of the city of Annapolis Maryland before moving to the DelMarVa Eastern Shore. Beautiful Guitar 🎸🎶 sounds awesome 😎 love the beginning with the drone views.... Cheers 🍻 🥃🥃
Thanks for the review! I have a Custom SE in the limited edition, zebra wood fnish. You are definitely right, one of the best guitars available for its price point and above. 🤙🎸🤖
Dude I just played a green quilt at guitar center yesterday. I was shocked I liked it so much. Debating hard today if I’m gonna take the dive and buy it. I shouldn’t, I have bought and replaced almost all my guitars this year, I don’t need another one but when you find ones you like it’s hard to pass on em.
The Custom 24 Quilt's with an ebony fretboard are aweome. Mine is in the Eriza Verde finish, it's a beauty! I think it's my #1 guitar now although my SE 594 gets played a ton too.
I have that exact guitar. The Eriza Verde finish is stunning and ebony boards are my favorite. I have 3 other PRS SE guitar each a little different but this one in the Eriza Verde is my favorite!
I think it has the Fralin partial coil split circuit. Should have a small value resistor on the p/p pot. It resists part of the signal going to ground on the affected coil. That way, it lessens volume drop. Also gives you humbucking capability with near single coil tonality.
Marty…always great tone and phrasing…PRS SE’s are hard to beat…I’m really considering one of the new CE SE 24 models…on sale for 550 bucks…best deal in town👍
I got the Sweetwater Exclusive one back in March 2021. The only difference I see is that the fingerboard is Rosewood, and I had Zebra 85/15s pickups in mine. These are indeed stellar guitars for the price!!!
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker dude if I could jam with any musician in the world, it would be you my man . Your my hero , Ed’s gone but his music lives through all of us that actually appreciate real musicians. Todays music isn’t music at all. Thanks for your channel, so glad you took that step , I’m sure it’s helped a lot of younger guys / gals to learn and appreciate it.
@@jamesrexsannatracy8318 I'm very honored to hear that, I'm very flattered. I'm just trying to share my passion and also help to inspire/help others on their musical journey and hopefully make some folks happy and their day go a bit better! 😎☮️
I have an older PRS Custom 24 in a Tobacco Burst color which I love, the only thing I don’t like is the “zebra” color pickups. Other than that I truly LOVE this guitar and I’m mainly a Fender guy, but I will fight anyone who wants to take this one from me!!!!!!!
I purchased the same guitar from Sweetwater a few weeks ago as well. The price is excellent for a quality guitar like that. My pickups are the Zebra color which looks good too. I'm going to play it for a while as is then will add the PRS SE locking tuners. Eventually I want to have the double black Seymour Duncan SH-18 Whole Lotta Humbuckers installed. I had that set of pups years ago and think it will be perfect in that guitar. It's a awesome guitar though right of the box!!!
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker Your right about the good quality or best value. It's my first PRS guitar and I really like it. I think the pickups sound are a bit to bright for my taste but, then I plan to try different strings on it yet to see if that warms it up more.
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker Most likely I'll up grade the pickups to the Seymour Duncan SH-18s Whole Lotta Humbers. Then I'll know better what that guitar can do. I personally don't need coil tapping as I have enough single coil guitars anyway. I fully agree with you on the 85/15 coil tapping.
Your playing did that guitar justice in your demo man. Nice of prs to send you one of their guitars recognising your channel. The ranch is looking good good 👍
Thank you! Technically it's a loaner so at some point they'll probably send me a return label lol. 😂. Perhaps?? Anyways.... I was more than happy to test one out and do a review dor them on the channel.
Just bought my first PRS SE the CE 24. Love the guitar for the price...for me I prefer the satin finish maple neck... shout out for the Fly By Night riff! One of my warm ups...
I bought a $25,000 guitar (1961 ES355 Mono w/sideways Vibrola) a couple years ago. FedEx left it at my front door without me signing for it. I was waiting until around 4pm. I checked the tracking number and it showed it was delivered at 11 am. I was so P.O'd. Someone could have walked off with and I would have been screwed. Anyhow, I dig your channel, thanks for all the tips...
I have a 1990 Special. I wonder how these models would feel to me. I know PRS have excellent QC compared to another big guitar company… *cough, Gibson cough*… But I would love to play and hear one myself, because my PRS has spoilt me rotten with its playability and quality through all these many years.
I’ve been looking at the SE and S2 series and know the difference between these. All things considered, is it really worth spending the extra money to go for an S2 vs an SE?
Thanks bro! I try to keep things fresh here on the channel! 😎. Dude PRS are knocking it pit of the park with the SE lineup. I've seen new SE Standards for $520 with a gig back. Incredible.
Ha Marty that is a very pretty guitar love that color! Were did you get that from? Oh wow it sounds really good and i bet feel great as well Rockon man and enjoy that cool guitar.
There's no doubt of the quality and craftsmanship is fantastic on those guitars im just not a fan of the necks on them and the heal joint seem a bit archaic to me with all the choices out there I just look for something more my style nice review Marty 👍🤘
Cool tones Marty! Interesting you used the Badger patch, instead of the usual BE. Love the PRS's, BUT, I never liked the CU24. The neck pickup is closer to the bridge, and never gets the nice thick woman tones the CU22 and Mccarty's do.
to everybody who OWN and PLAYED the guitar. Is is staying in Tune? and please be honest as possible, i cant decide if i get a shecter c-1 or prs se 24 custom.
PRS is knockin it outta the Ballpark this year. And these are ALL like 20% off right now. Very bummed Ive had to return mulpile FENDER guitars over the last 2 years. Their fretwork is HORRIBLE!
