i just got my new p.r.s custom 24 in whale blue. i love it so so much that i just ordered another one in blue black matteo. The look, the weight, the hardware, and most importantly. the TONE!!!!! TONE TONE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!! god bless Paul Reed Smith.
Love 'em...have my third one now, a Custom 24 w/10 top and birds. I had a McCarty, a single cut, then I borrowed my son's Custom 24. Like it so well that I eventually bought one. I still use other guitars, Strats mainly. But #1 is the 24 for the times that I can only bring one to a job...mostly parties and dances. THey're worth the money.
@666grevil It's a PRS Custom 24. One of the original guitars made by Paul Reed Smith guitars. This model dates back to the 80's when Paul was still building custom one of guitars by hand. Today... Custom 24's go for around $3000
I've had a PRS custom 24 for about two or three years now. I got the Champagne Fizz color, which looks great. I absolutely love the sound, and I'd hate to play anything else. I definitely recommend PRS guitars.
@666grevil It is a PRS custom 24 and it cost around 2900$, it's very versatile and a lot of artists have used it. I have used it myself at a store called Steve's Music and now I MUST have one. IT'S MY BIGGEST WISH
PRS is a class act guy. I met him when I worked at Sam Ash and after chatting a little while he asked for my business card so he could send me a gift box with and autographed catelog. Sure enough he sent it! Pretty impressive for someone like PRS to go out of his way for someone. PRS are also the best guitars that I prefer.
@666grevil It's a PRS Custom 24, with Dark Cherry Sunburst finish. It truly is a beauty, and a masterpiece class instrument. I've yet to try a better guitar than a PRS Custom 24. The spectrum of tones you can get from it is just immense.
It's literally called a Custom 24. Depending on what colors you get and what setup it has (strings, color, pickups, etc...) they can range anywhere from around the $2,000 mark to the $5,000. Anywhere past there you're looking at their signature or special edition line. You want a nice guitar from PRS? Look up the PRS Dragon I or the PRS Dragon II. If I had $50,000 laying around I'd definitely buy the PRS Dragon I that's been on eBay for the past year.
666grevil, cheers to ya, about your question on the title of the guitar. it is a paul reed smith ( custom 24 ) dont know the finish, but when ordering it, you have options on things like finishes, quilt or satin finish on the body, bird or dot inlays on the frets, normal or a wider neck etc. i just ordered one last week, in the statesi believe the price starts at $ 2800.00 american give or take, could be more or less, it is not a cheap guitar but let me tell you, it is one sweet machine.
It's a prs custom 24 and they are around £2k do cheaper versions for around 3-4 hundred! I would love one of these defo, they have swallows in flight inlaid in the fret board!!! Awesome!
@666grevil It's a PRS Custom 24 model, and with none of the visual options they start around $1800 USD. The sky is the limit, when you start adding options or going private stock.
I've had 3 of them and really like my 2008 Custom 24 the best. It's a 10 top, birds, and I like the small heel a lot better than my earlier one with a big heel. I've used Les Pauls most of the 40 yrs I've played with bands. LP's are great but inconsistent...EVERY PRS is amazingly detailed. Lot of tonal versatility and light, worth the money.
you can get a custom 24 CE for like 1000 - 1500 then the other ones are closer to 2000 and up. One has a bolt on neck and one doesnt. pending on bird inlay or not, you can get them for a great price.
to 666grevil; IT's called exactly; PRS Custom 24 It's between 2000 - 3000 dollars new and they go even higher on some special models. maybe you can find 1 used for around 1200-1500 dollars. It's amazing guitar though and investment is great. Good quality and playability as well.
nice guitar and i LOVE PRS but i don't like how the 3rd knob is the pickup selector :/ i'd much rather the 3 way switch... i tried playing one with the knob and i couldn't get any of the tone i wanted :( it all sounded really muddy and i just couldn't get it to sound like i wanted
I wish they would sell these guitars here in Costa Rica. You can only get the so called standard famous brands and also the crappy Chinese ones. I will save some money, then go all the way up to the states and get me a PRS Custom 24. It will take me a long time to save the money but I'll get one one day! The day I'll have one within my hands will be a very happy one.
im stuck between getting a PRS custom 24 or a singlecut 25 im looking for a guitar that can handle hard rock but can also get sounds u hear from the RHCP can anyone tell me which would be better?
I have 5 PRS..nice guitars indeed, but Paul really knows how to use marketing talk. Bright tone..where? He meant brighter than the previous,but still quite dark. Maybeeee a strat tone..yes, maybe close but not quite. I've just seen a good use of knobs and 5 position selector but...don't all (good) guitars achive that (specially with a nice old boogie)? Great guitars, but its not a stand alone guitar that does everything. A strat is a strat.. a Les paul is a Les paul... a CU24 is a CU24, etc
They're pretty expensive. The Custom 24 goes from $3000 to $4000, depending on your options. But they're worth that money: they're (IMO) the best guitars ever made.
God, PRS makes some really nice guitars. For some reason, I can't play them. I've been playing Les Pauls for so long that anything else feels funny in my hands. I've tried a few times to get used to a PRS, but it just didn't happen.
