Bradly! Thanks for inspiring me to shoot a video I’ve been wanting to shoot since my father-in-law’s passing! I watched your last rib video and said, that’s it, I’m cooking Paul’s ribs this weekend and filming it! Chuds BBQ has become my favorite channel! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful tribute! I bet your father-in-law would be very proud. That’s what BBQ is all about, passing down those awesome recipes and methods to cook for other people
I always prefer direct over indirect, cuts down at least 90 min of cook time. A little bit more work every 15min but Def worth it and no loss in taste or finished product. GREAT VIDEO BRO!!!
I've watched this video several times. Gets better every time. Best method ever! I finally got myself a Hasty Bake and love this method on that pit. Nice!
This is a hidden gem video. Might be the best "weeknight rib" recipe ive seen so far. Thanks. (And sorry for your loss, I'm close with my dad in law too)
Great job Eric!! Great timing on this because I am planning to do some direct grilled ribs on my Santa Maria soon!! Paul certainly had a great recipe!!
Thanks for watching Ricer! I bet they will turn out great on you SM! One thing I left out in the video is that Paul called the mopping sauce I used “Pond Scum”! He was a real caricature, I miss him dearly!
That’s awesome! I appreciate the sub ! Thanks for watching, this was a very special video for me and I’m thrilled it’s getting a lot of views! I’ll check out your channel and return the favor!
Pit Treats! Your father-in-law's method looks like it gives a unique flavor profile that you don't get from just smoking. Now I've got to find me a mop!
Enjoyed this video...This what I am looking for....smoking good to but I really enjoy is tending to the meat on the grill. Don't like leaving meat on grill for so long without looking at it lol. Grilling has become such an enjoyment for me.
happy activities thank you for sharing useful videos very good videos cool and beautiful your work is amazing very good I like success and good health for you and your family I support you forever thank you my dear friend❤❤💝🙏🏼 Like💯💝
I know I'm late... I hate to say it, but you could do indirect... even with a small grill, not even a smoker. The key is to get the temperature to the right point and maintain between 250 and 300 for the same duration you did direct. It will all turn out great.
Hello there Eric; This is Tim Williams. Its been a while since I watched you on Barbecuing direct heat on.a Char-Griller Charcoal Grill. One thing I've forgot to ask you. How long do you barbecue Ribs? I know you flip them every 15 minutes, but do you grill them 3 or 5 hours? please let me and I still enjoy your channel. BTW Eric. Do you also have a video on Barbecuing Chicken? please let me know. God bless you.
I grill ribs till the bones start to show, then I check the internal temp and if it’s at 200, I know it’s ready…but if you do them a lot you get a feel for how they are when done. I smoked chicken half’s a while ago, is that what you are looking for? Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
Best $100 grill out there! I like them so much I have 2. I got the second one off of Facebook marketplace for $50 and it has a smoke box! Thanks for watching!
@@EricsBBQAndMORE yes I agree I have the one like you have in the video and I have the one called the outlaw which only difference is it has a 5th cast iron grate instead of 4. I put the side box on it
Hello there Eric; My name is Tim Williams and I just want to thank you for demonstrating how to barbecue direct heat ribs on your Char-Griller Charcoal Grill. To my understanding you said flip the ribs every 15 minutes. and mop them . How long do you grill the ribs. Is low and slow for 5 hours? please text me back and let me know. Thank you and may you have a great and wonderful blessed day! 🙏🏾 Tim Williams BTW can you also do a demonstration on Barbecuing chicken? I'd greatly appreciate.
You can tell by feel as to when the ribs are done. They will bend easily when picked up in the middle. You can also check with temp probe once they are around 200 they are ready for bbq sauce. I don’t cook to time but I’d say around 3 hours for direct fire method. I do have a chicken video, I’ll post you the link.
I put the sauce on the last 15+ minutes of the cook. Just want to have the BBQ set up on the meat. I also warm up some sauce for folks to add if they prefer. Thanks for watching!
Great question! It depends on what you are looking for. If you want “fall off the bone” you’re best off smoking them. If you want bite thru ribs, direct fire is the way to go. If I have the time and I’m not cooking for an army, I like smoked! But if I’ve got to cook for a large group, direct fire all the way! Thanks for watching!
Hello there Eric; This is Tim Williams and I'm watching you Barbecuing your Baby Back Ribs again. I have another question when it comes Direct Barbecuing Ribs. Can you also Direct heat ribs with the Membrane off or will it cause the Ribs to burn with the same method of 15 minutes? please let me know and again I thank you God bless you Tim Williams 🙏🏾
You're welcome Eric. Ever since I watched you barbecue Ribs on direct heat I learned I hate to bother you with questions, but I have a Weber Kettle Grill and can you do direct heat on Ribs or will it be a problem? please give me your advice or opinion. Again I thank you Eric and have a great day!
@@Timotheusism sorry for the late response, been a crazy day! I’m sure there is a way to set those up for direct fire, but I’ve never used one, I’m sure RU-vid will have the video for you on this! Let me know how it goes! Oh and ask me anything I really enjoy helping folks make good BBQ!
Great question, I don’t taste it, it really just helps keep the ribs moist and also helps keep the coals in check. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Will do. Thanks. I’m fairly new to charcoal grilling. I enjoy watching you work the grill. You really look like you know what you’re doing! I have seen videos of people indirectly cooking ribs 7 hours. I have a wife and 4 daughters. If I was out there 7 hours fooling with dinner I would have a house full of cranky women when I came in. Your method of an hour and a half makes sense to me. I’m going to give it a try.
