1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

7:29 - there is always going to be an issue with John 3:16 (especially when taken out of context). There are enough people instinctively resisting and mistrusting Hebrew Scripture (I myself was one among them) who know the Koine Greek of “houtos” (so, or more accurately “in this manner”) that they will say the “for” (gar in Greek) refers to what Jesus was preaching to Nicodemus earlier, namely just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness so too must the Son of Man be lifted up (John 3:14), hence the “houtos". The “good news” (euangelion in Greek, Mark 1:1) will also make no sense to the layperson - Further,, regarding the Great Commission in Matthew 28:16 being from a contested Mark 16:9-20 not present in the earliest manuscripts, including Vaticanus and Sinaiticus. - Personal testimony is the most effective, especially when tailored to individual cultures.

Sometimes I wonder if Herod gave himself the name Great...from Alexander the Great.
