I used to frequent an afterhours club a few years ago. The DJ either played House, Trance or top 40 stuff depending on the crowd. I gave him a copy of this track for a trance night. He, along with most people there, never heard of it but the crowd went crazy. After that he played it a few times here and there but that one night was great seeing so many people get up and dance and enjoy something new.
OMG. I was born in '84 in Portugal, and by some streak of good Godly luck, my local CD record shop had a copy of the album "Out there and back" by Paul van Dyk that I bought. OMG! Back then, internet was scarce, listening to full albums of Music was like a voyage in your mind, and although so much good music was erupting in the trance genre, this album stood majestically on top of all of it! Up to this day (2021), these songs are so meaningful, so powerful! Seriously, the sounds and composition into Music were so futuristic back then but as of yet so unrealised - I may be dead in 40 years (aged 80) but this is still futuristic, soulful, energetic, soulful, meaningful - special music! Such as Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, etc etc etc - just a different genre @Paul van Dyk thank you for all your work since forever, never stop making music and always put your soul into it (as I feel that you have) . Every time I listen to one of your compositions, there is something special about it! Don't ever doubt yourself. Cheers and best wishes!
I can't believe it was over 20 years ago I first heard this on Contact FM from Boulogne, France when UK radio wouldn't dare touch anything like it. Choooon then, chooooon now!
Going back to find Wip3out, and realizing I started to love electronic music and trance from its soundtrack at age 11 was such a trip. 20 years later and I can still remember flying through those tracks listening to these classic tracks. TAKE ME BACK. 2020 is not worthy!
Totally! This is my second favourite music track from that game after Xpander. I can't listen to this and not picture hovering above the world and travelling at great speed. wipEout2097 (a.k.a XL) and wip3out both had amazing soundtracks. I used to put the game CD in my stereo all the time.
what beautiful memories you brought me from my childhood! I didn't remember neither the game nor the name but when I looked for it I realized that it was one of my favorite games, I was listening to Paul without realizing it!
Anyone know the name of the track starting at 1:30 .... appreciate the info. Heard this at a club in Goa many years ago and have been searching for it ever since. Cant believe i stumbled on it now :-) Thanks
