Paul Weller: Into Tomorrow (Documentary) 

Everyone shouting for The Jam on here should remember that they are only so good in the memory because Weller stopped them at their peak. A great band but they would have become shit if Weller had toured those records for 30 years. Since then he has proven himself to be one of the greatest songwriters and singers this country ever produced!

I love Paul, and his ventures into other music, but I will always feel for Bruce, and Buckler...Two very talented blokes as well....Break ups are sad....

I love hearing Paul talk. He's the real thing. There's no boundaries with this man. He has a real mystical quality to his tone, otherworldly but definitely grounded...a true artist. He's the Mod William Blake.

What an incredible talent Weller is,at every stage of his career.I think he is courageous,humorous and is not afraid to re-invent himself.One of the best songwriters of our time, his songs are timeless.He has style and attitude.Fascinated by this documentary.He is a true working class hero and an inspiration to everyone of my generation.What a soul and spirit! Ok....im 40 , drummer, scratch dj , collecter of records n stuff, I listen to loads of music, I always start with weller. His first 5 albums were awesome .. toy was pretty cool( single) THE PEBBLE AND THE BOY really bleak and haunting.. hes stood the test of time .. nobody can touch him!!!!!!!.

Love the old Paul.....Love the new Paul............but I have a special place for the middle Paul.The Style Council!

Weller , what a talent....can't help feeling that Paul, Rick and Bruce were born to play together....Don't think Paul's ever hit that high together with anyone else playing live !....Very creative guy though !....Oh and Paul it only matters what your friends and family think of you...they're the ones that matter when you're talking about love !

Paul and his bands were never huge here in the States. Totally underappreciated. I'm so glad someone introduced them to me in the early 80s. I haven't even heard him from the 90s on. I'm so excited to discover!

Fantastic I seen the Jam I think it was 1982 in Berlin whilst I was in the Army with the old Iron Curtain (Berlin Wall) still up. It was then that I decided I wanted to play the guitar thanks to Mr PW just seen him recently in Carlisle at the Sands wonderful to have such an iconic tallented musician still entertaing. Thank you so very much.

Modernism A new decade turned out to be one of the best albums ive ever heard. Even in 2017 it sounds new and fresh. what were people thinking showing discontent at the Royal Albert Hall in 1989. I would've given my right arm to be at that gig.

thanks very much for uploading, i got a great insight into the man and, being a fan of his music, it helped me decide what i felt of him as a person. i have to say, i admire him much more - that footage of him in 91 playing Town Called Malice to two men and a dog, with his baggy-grunge outfit on - to pull himself from there back to the top, i salute him. but i like him a lot less than i did. a lot to admire, very little to like. he's charmless, unbelievably serious and very precious and self-absorbed. i couldn't warm to him at all. we heard about the great sense of humour he has, but the couple of examples he just came across as a tosser. he gave no credit to Dee C. Lee for more or less keeping him sane for 3 or 4 years, while he moaned about being yesterdays man, and couldn't show any enthusiasm for his period as a family man, he obviously hated it. he had virtually nothing to say about their break up. just me me me. but as an artist i admire him.

Have you listened to Foxton's latest solo lp, Back In The Room? If not, definitely recommended. He and Weller sound great together again- I prefer it to Weller's solo output, though Weller's latest is a very good one as well.

TSC were very underrated band because many people were not at the right level to understand the mix of jazz (west coast, bossa nova), soul, dance....and good philosophy about fashion and society.

You can't take away his brilliant song writing abilities. The next step from Davies, marriott and townsend. A natural progression.

When bitterest pill came out,I personally thought,"Yeh it's time we grew up,and who better to grow older with than the man himself" we all grew with him at 15 why not die listening to him at 97 So fuck it ,I'm Weller ,I've always been Weller you can Fuckin Bury me Weller. For a start, TSC were not 'disco'. You may not like them, but so what? Weller had the balls to do what he believed in despite potentially losing a massive audience. I wish more musicians were as honest. I don't like Scott Walkers' new material but I LOVE the fact he writes from his heart and not with his wallet in mind.

One of my fav Weller songs is Walls Come tumbling Down of which I was about 10/11 years old at release, Was into The Jam just after they spit up around 1984 you cant say that TAC songs was 'DISCO'. Alot of Jaz, Soul and French influence at that period of time. Did get a pit more pop though later.

I wonder why he never tried to break in the USA. I think Pauls music would have gone over pretty well over here.

I feel like the only reason someone would ever like the Style Council is because they loved Paul in the Jam. Otherwise, the Style Council would have begun and fans would have thought it was shyte.

Hey, I never said SC was good, esp. that last record. But he did what he wanted to do. What he wanted to do wasn't well received and flopped. Oh well, he dusted himself off, grew up a bit, and moved on. He's not spending his middle years rehashing stuff from 30 years ago and for that I can only applaud him. I don't like all of the stuff he's come out with since the breakup of the Jam, but I respect him enough to give it a listen and say, "nope, not for me," if I think it's crap.
