I got 4x 500 ml cans of this in Aldi it's nice and strongish not too carbonated.

Had an in date keg 5 litre and you could taste the freshness in it had an out of date and the difference was unbelievable the out of date almost tasted slightly woody and flat like a champagnge that's gone past its best.

it's a lush beer out of the bottles imo. Very well balanced with it being a lager its not going to be a flavour bomb but very refreshing. Not as good as augustiner mind you but it's up there with most of the other helles I've tried. Deffo wouldn't call it an average lager, maybe it's the keg?

Yeah in definitely beginning to think that really should have got s bottle to do alongside it now. Bottles always seem to be better imo as well Augustiner Helles now your talking 🍺😆

If it's out of date then how do you know it will be the same all the time. Surely that has to be taken into account?

Yes definitely hence why saying the date. I will get some bottles and go on it again at some point. Thing is as I said few years ago I was right into it then slowly went off it. Although a lot of the time dates don't count for a lot which the hof vs Paulaner proves I think sometimes it's them 5 litre kegs there really not great tbh. Well imo anyway I have rothaus bottle Vs 5 litre Keg to do next so that will shed a bit more light hopefully 😆
