@@ProfessorBulletMG Well if you use your brain now, since his neck doesn't move when he gets hit, his brain moves less than others when getting hit so he will get less cte
Costa ended up with a torn biceps needing reconstructive surgery. That tell you all about how lethal Romero is. I think that fight should have been a draw
Clash of Titans?? Hardly.. Yoel barely did anything in that fight. Those highlights you just watched were all the action combined out of three full rounds.. I wanted more out of that tank of a man Yoel.
@@travisanderson3920 i know and agree I wanted more. Yoel has been a disappointment in his last set of fights but still...this action sequence was literally back and forth drops/over extended strikes it was epic. Agree it could have been better but in that moment I was shitting myself.
@@Ethiokarate1 😆 yeah.. it was literally the last 10-15 seconds of the fight where Yoel turned it up. We all wanted more.. that's too bad because we know what he's capable of. I believe he's in his 40's though..
What’s even crazier is that he broke his c4 vertebrae in his neck and the only reason he didn’t suffer paralysis or death is because of his sheer physique.. made his ufc debut only months after this injury was healed.. he’s clearly cut from a different cloth
Bro I know plenty of people in there 40s that are in better shape now and. would beat the shit out of 25-30yr old self. You gotta realize people are living longer so "prime years" are shifting.
@Zzzz not in mma « bro » His longevity is nothing short of amazing. Only a select few have had this kind of longevity. Usually heavier weights. Glover, Randy couture…
Cael sanderson beat daniel cormier at the ncaa wrestling tournaments a while ago, cael then went on to wrestle for america in the olympics. Nobody had seen anything like cael, an absolute monster just dominating everyone. Then yoel remero beat him twice at the olympics. Thats how good yoel is at wrestling. Yet he doesn’t wrestle at all in the ufc.
You earn a lot more if you stand up and strike. They give bonuses for staying on your feet a certain amount of time. For getting a knockout, for knockout of the night. You end up making way less than half if you go take a guy down and submit him. Training camps are expensive. Gear, food, supplements, drugs and food are expensive
@@shakazulu5246 yeah I think something didn’t go right in his camp and he was too scared to attack. I think izzy had that affect on big smashers like Costa, he’s so hard to hit and although he’s not returning with big hits himself he’s wearing you down and fucking with your mind. I think izzy has been fighting guys like this all his life and had kind of worked them out
The two middleweights giants making it look like a heavyweight fight I remember watching this fight for the first time then seeing Costa had to go against Izzy next thinking Stylebender had no chance 😭
It already ended terribly for Costa 🤣🤣 and Yoel played catch me if you can for a reason. Every other fight in Joel's career all he did was move forward attack attack when he Issy all he did was run run run run run and run and run and run and run and run and run and run 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@eat_a_dick7219 that’s what I meant bud. If they brought it to him like they normally fight it would’ve been a lot of fun to watch. I don’t think they looked like theirselves in those fights. I’m also a huge fan of Izzy so I mean no disrespect to him. I’m just a fight fan and was very unimpressed with both of them against Izzy.
Watched this live and I was jumping out of my seat! Was shocked that Romero lost the decision but it was a great fight that they can both be proud of forever
Romero was on his back foot most of the time and the visible damage on Costa's face might have distorted your impression of the significant strikes going either way.
I remember watching this thinking, "yeah, these two will take it to Izzy.." Nope, Izzy was too imposing, and they both froze. *Haters are now gonna mention something about Poatan 🙄 Predictable deflection.
No he didn't you can clearly see Costa slipped while attempting something def wasn't lifted off his feet with a punch from yoel get off his meat it's gross bro...💯👌
@@ButterBallTheOpossum no he talked about it. it was the Push Kick to the Knee or Oblique Kick. that bended his leg backwards. his legs never recover from it. the same thing happened to rampage jackson when he faced jon jones. they said that your legs are not the same because its not suppose to bend backwards.
