Paulownia, Foxglove Tree Care
Bought from Nobridge: nobridgenurs...
This plant comes with two warnings which i will share, i will also share solutions.
Foxglove tree, princess tree, empress tree.
Deciduous hardwood tree with large leaves and highly fragrant foxglove like flowers.
Native to East Asia and widespread across china
Loves full sun and tolerate drought conditions and baron soil.
Has been classified as invasive in some parts of the world - it produces thousands of seeds.
Can survive wildfires because it grows back from the roots.
Fruit is a dry egg shaped capsule which produces thousands of seeds
the seeds are winged shaped and blow readily on the wind
Very fast growing, upto 25 metres tall.
Young trees can be pollarded in the spring. but this is at the expense of the flowers. it produces flowers on mature wood. this is one way of preventing spread.
I will be pollarding mine and you will see that in a future video.
Loved by beekeepers and you can actually get pure paulownia honey in some parts of the world.
