Viktoria is a very good dancer but she's nowhere near Karina's caliber. always oversells her sex appeal and looks cheap no matter what she wears. Karina was exquisite and knew exactly how to present herself in the most advantageous and sophisticated light

@@ficklefialka309 I actually get how you feel, I too have been critical of many of Viktoria's past costumes when she was with Salvo and I would have agreed with your comment here if that was still the case, but it's not. Since turning pro her dresses have been much classier and modest whilst retaining her strong signature feminine sex appeal. I will say this dress is pushing boundaries and is about as revealing as I'd like to see her in though. It covers what it needs to and for me its well designed classy and very sexy, but not trashy or cheap by any means. I wasn't suggesting Vik's dancing is in the same league as Karina's, but she is in the same mould when it comes to floor presence. In dance terms no, I wouldn't put them two in the same class by a long shot atm but in time who knows. The one thing that vik has that Joanna, Karina and Yulia Z had was sex appeal in spades and they all used it to their full advantage. Infact that's what Viktoria naturally has and its a real weapon. You cant teach, steel or borrow it. You either got it or you don't. Talking about trashy and cheap costumes, they didn't come much worse than some of the garb Joanna got into and if not for her dance quality she would have been ostracised far more for it imho. As Viktoria matures both in life and dance terms so too will her dress style {it has already} but I'd never encourage her to not accentuate her strongest natural attributes which among other things is her sensual femininity. Remember she's still young and not a complete product yet. I look forward to seeing how she and Pavel develop together because visually it looks real good.

@@joetesta5730 i'm just so over female dancers (esp Russian-speaking ones) oversexualizing themselves left and right, as if that's their best quality. it's so regressive, tiresome, and low-value that it pains me to look at some of our top females, never mind the lower ranking ones, who often go out of their way to merch their "sexuality" (doesn't have to be just dresses, it's everything-moves, faces, gestures, etc). this is not a moral or ethical argument though; it's a matter of aesthetics, and the insta canon just doesn't cut it on the dance floor, imo. Re: Yulia. This is neither here or there, but her brand of femininity did nothing for me. strangely, i always found something vaguely repelling abt it, despite the gorgeous display...Karina was the ultimate queen, imo, but I also liked Joanna's androgynous look-she def knew how to work it and made it her signature style

@@ficklefialka309 Largely agree with you on the first part of your reply. Yes so many females are way overdoing the sexuality with the big enhanced lips and pouting and some expressions are pure cringe, especially in the younger age groups its often ott but they are mostly still learning their craft. That goes for both sexes btw but looks even worse on the females that way overcook it.. It's wrong to put Viktoria in this category though. She rarely overdoes the facials, but she is a naturally sensual, sultry, exotic, vivatious and evocative woman and that comes to the fore in her dance style. That is her trade mark and the comments at large show that all but a minority applaud it. Sorry to bust bubbles here, but that is what Latin dance is all about. It is unashamedly sexual in its nature, especially rumba, but true of Samba and cha cha too. I could debate this in detail, but suffice to say I don't share you view when it comes to the Viktoria of late.... As for the adjective describing Joanna as having an androgenous look. WTF. By its simplest definition androgenous means to have a difficult to distinguish male/female appearance. That is so inaccurate and nothing short of derogatory to use that word to in any way describe her. Joanna is and looks every bit female and woman and in no way fits that terminology. If anything Joanna chose a strong, fierce, but still feminine look for herself. Not the pretty girl next door look, and yes it suited her facial features, personality and dance style perfectly. Many have tried to copy it and almost all have failed to varying degrees. I do like your observant comments, albeit often too much tilted toward the negative side but please do choose your descriptive terms more accurately cause this one is way wrong, out of line and I'm sure Joanna would be delighted being described in that way. The only thing I will say about the reference to Yulia is that to say she was repelling and a gorgeous display in the same sentence is an oxymoron and doesn't make real logical sense to me. Agree wholeheartedly with your appraisal of Karina though. Together with Donny & Gaynor, Karina & Slavik are for me, the best, most complementary, balanced partnerships of all time. I can't think of one any better and I've been around this sport for decades and seen em' all.

Ummm…you lost me completely with your ire about my use of the word “androgynous” in relation to Joanna, but then I got it. It’s the generational, cultural, and educational differences. Sorry you got so upset for no good reason whatsoever. Do some research on the term and the concept though. Then take a good look at some of the most famous pieces of portraiture (Mona Lisa, for starters), the ones you had looked on a hundred times before without a shred of recognition of what they were about among other things.

Vik is from Ukraine. And yep, many talented dancers are from Ukraine.
