You're living in 2050 over here with that brilliant "seed skirt" hack. Idk why I never thought to try liners like that. Plus it looks way cleaner and prettier than the fabric ones do.
Happy to help! Its a big investment and it is nice to get some extra info out of a cage before buying. I also want to help encourage people to buy bigger cages, as it benefits the birds so much to have room to fly.
Gorgeous cage and has re-enforced my opinion that bigger is better! I also like the feeders you use. I’m still on the fence about diving into the hobby but want the best possible home for any finch I decide to adopt. Thanks for the inspiration!
I have this same cage for cockatiels and budgies without the divider. I have a single one for Gouldians. Good luck breeding them, the Zebras will likely breed easily. Owl finches are a lot more difficult
Thanks for the review and info on this cage :) Are there any covers made for this cage? we will be probably getting this but can't find any made covers for it for night time :)
I have the same type of cage but instead of using commercial perches which are very unhealthy for birds legs I use naturals twigs if different thickness . I also put bottom crate only when I clean a tray .
You'll see in my other videos that I have expanded my perch selection to include more natural branches. Thanks for your feedback and for watching! I always enjoy hearing from other bird people :)
Hello, I absolutely loved your cage setup. I couldn’t hear that properly. Could you please share the link with us where you got this beautiful cage from? Thank you!
This is the cage I purchased www.amazon.com/PawHut-Rolling-Detachable-Storage-Container/dp/B08BZH7QQP/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2PUAG3RBAAGBS&dchild=1&keywords=double+flight+cage+with+divider&qid=1616449498&sprefix=Double+flight+cage%2Caps%2C192&sr=8-5
I loved the fine texture of this greenery from the craft store. It is plastic, so easy to wash and hard for them to destroy! Larger birds might require something sturdier.
Hello!! I loved your review and I'm thinking of getting a similar cage to this one. I was just wondering how the cage is holding up now 7 months later and if its still in good condition? Thanks so much!
I would say that this cage has held up quite well, for its price. That said, the quality isn't quite as nice as my Prevue Hendryx cages. I've had to retighten the allen bolts that hold it together but haven't had any major issues. It's good for a budget, but Prevue cages are my preference for quality. They are a mid - range between Amazon sellers generic brands and something like A&E.
Never had luck with the Owls. Notoriously more difficult to breed. That said, I'm not a "breeder" but more of a home hobbyist. I'd keep owls if you can find them. They're a lovely variety of finch! With zebras you can end up with more breeding than you actually want.
Hey I have a question I see that the cages are forged together I want to buy that cage but I don’t want the divider in the middle is there a way to connect it all was one big cage
The divider simply slides out. Depending on the size of your birds, you might have to fill the gap that it leaves. This cage is certainly intended to open up into one cage.
Have you found a clear plastic to weave in and out for the seed droppings? I put chop for mine on the floor and their bath is on the floor. I would like to be able to see them when they’re Dow there. There has to be something we can see through. I’m making sprouts now and looking to start microgreens. Love my big cage. Soon the ones which had Their wings clipped will stop falling to the floor. Such a travesty! Wishing you well. Are you where I could text you easier?
Hi Sharon, I have not found clear, but I don't think I'd like it anyway because it would always look dirty. The frosted lets the light in but doesn't show those bath water splashes! I'm glad your birds get a spring salad. I'll be posting an update soon, my babies all recovered flight within a couple of weeks and I have a neighbor who adopted the 3 boys. The hen is still with me 😁
I've thought about that in my double. I'm currently using the A&E version of this but think it would be possible. I've considered that if I ever downsize I could use it as a single based on the way it is constructed.
Hello! I just wanna talk about your cage setup for a little bit, Your cage's size is amazing like i really mean it but there are a few problems I do see that there arent many toys or perches. I definitely recomend more! P.S. I dont mean any hate your birds seem like they are living an amazing life and they seem that they are very happy and healthy.
Hi there, thanks for your comments. I'm not sure if you keep finches, but the number one priority for housing them is flight space. They differ from parakeets or cockatiels in that way. I do provide a variety of perches, natural and store bought. They get paper to shred and love building nests when I allow them. You sound like a great responsible bird owner. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
I used plastic greenery purchased from a craft store. It is sturdy enough that they can't destroy it, and can be easily washed with vinegar water. Thanks for watching!
Again, love the out of the box liner hack for the bottom of the cage. On another note: why don't you link to the cage being reviewed? Is it because it can be sold in various locations online or another reason?
Thanks! I hadn't linked it because is is sold under various names on Amazon. I suspect they are all the same product. I will consider adding a link to the one I purchased though.
@@TacosYBurritos8P This is the one I purchased. Good luck! www.amazon.com/PawHut-Rolling-Detachable-Storage-Container/dp/B08BZH7QQP/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=pawhut+double+flight+cage&qid=1618443185&sr=8-1
They actually are not real. They are plastic - which makes them very easy to wash in vinegar water on a regular basis. I have a whole video on my greenery if you want to check it out! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tv0o59VBM5U.html
Hi, lovely cage! 😍 beautiful babies.. what is that on the bottom clear thing? I'm guessing that holds in the doorpings of the food so it doesn't come outside ? Correct me if I'm wrong. My birds make alot of mess lol trying to look for something that will solve the problem
Yes! It is a clear shelf liner material that I cut and weave into the bars to reduce mess. You know that there is no way to eliminate mess, but it helps! My dust buster is the best bird investment I ever made :)
I do think that this cage is sold under many descriptions on Amazon (US) but here is the version I purchased www.amazon.com/PawHut-Rolling-Detachable-Storage-Container/dp/B08BZH7QQP/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2PUAG3RBAAGBS&dchild=1&keywords=double+flight+cage+with+divider&qid=1616449498&sprefix=Double+flight+cage%2Caps%2C192&sr=8-5
But don't you allow your finches to bathe daily? I don't see a bird bath? I don't see any nesting doors? I am trying to find a bird cage that I have easy access to from as many different angles. I'm older and not as flexible.
I got six Budgies and got the white cage like yours. Directions were “figure it out “. Thank you for idea for skirting. I did that. And love the seed feeders. Please make some more videos. You have such a lovely voice. And you have to have a thick skin for naysayers or critiques. TY
I paid about $219 USD for this model. You can find a variety of sellers and quality levels in this style, but this is the "budget" or price-point version.
I love this cage as 1 cage alone could hold 4-6 budgies or 2 cockatiels each. I would recommend feeding your birds VEGATABLES because it is really healthy and seed is very fattening but lovely set up
Thanks for your note! I offer my finches a variety of veggies in addition to egg and shell multiple times per week. I totally agree that it is critical for bird health.
My parakeets refuse to eat anything that isn't seed and everything on Google says they're granivores, meaning they predominantly eat seed in the wild naturally.
@@samuelbrantfisher7441 in the wild they do eat seed but you cannot compare a wild bird to a house bird because wild birds fly for hundreds of miles whereas house birds don’t
Fake plants. I have a separate video on that! All from a craft store. Mostly vine style. Plastic is my choice, as the silk ones can shred and birds can get caught in them.
