That's what most people forget it's not just haggling when they buy,everyone seems to think that the shop always gets what the experts say it's worth,cause the right person to pay the price may not come in the shop,that's why Rick HAS to pay low,he has rent,rates,all kinds of taxes,50 employees to pay,gas,electric, water Bill's,company vehicles to pay for and maintain, gasoline etc. So just like the sellers ask for more than it's worth so there is room to haggle Rick over prices when he sells as he knows the buyer will haggle

There’s an episode where someone comes in to appraise this lady’s katana, it gets appraised at (I can’t remember the exact figures) $10k. Rick then says his usual “so what do you want it for it? Remember that I gotta make money.” And this woman goes “how about $4k, can you make money on that?” Rick then replies with “umm yeah, but I’ll make a little bit too much money, how about I give you $6k?” It was quite sweet.

Pretty minor given that a presidential signature and image is on the front, but Frank Tomlinson was actually a pretty well known photographer in Detroit and made many cabinet cards. On rare occasion, his 1886 Detroit Tiger cabinet cards will pop up, some pretty rare but cool photos and arguably among the first baseball “cards.” Pretty niche collection but I would’ve loved this for the Detroit history!

Sign your name three times. Then compare them. You'll notice each will be slightly different but each will have similarities. The lip in his examples doesn't need to be as pronounced as that found on the card. The fact that it's there is one of several indications he can use collectively to determine the signature's authenticity.

1:50, "they didn't print anything, everything was written"? There is printed text at the bottom of the card, and the signature crosses over onto the bottom section, so you know it's contemporaneous. Unless he's using "printed" to mean "written not in cursive" and "written" to mean "written in cursive"
