@3:35 ****I may not have made it clear in this video... the mix has to sit about three weeks before it is ready to drink....Please refer to my video posted on 2/11/18 "Beginner Tutorial" ***
After a little calculating and head scratching, I have simplified my recipe even further. Eliminating extra dishes and utensils. Too easy to ignore !!! Never buy wine again ! No fancy utensils at ALL !!!

Wow! I made the wine. In my 76-80 degree house, it took about two weeks. Made it first time as described, with 1.5 C sugar and the Welch's grape. DE-LISH-OUS! Hell of a kick! I'm passing around this video to everyone I know.

@Wisegirl The time is variable depending on the temperature you keep it at. Watch the winemaking videos on my playlist on my homepage. They will answer all your questions. The warmer you keep it, the faster it finishes.

Wow, my first batch finished today. Grape was great, Apple was good, but the one that suprised me the most was Aldi's Tropical Splash 5% juice with 1 cup of sugar - it tasted like a fruity sparkling champagne. I have another 3 gallons cooking away - i can't wait. Thanks and love the channel!!!

My first time attempting to make wine. I did it Exactly as Paw Paw instructed, exactly! 100% Welch’s grape juice, sugar, yeast. Took out 8oz juice, added yeast and sugar. Shook till sugar dissolved. Loosened the cap. Placed in a box in my spare bedroom and left it alone for 4 weeks. There is sediment on the bottom of the bottle and this stayed on the bottom. I slowly poured the wine into a couple quart mason jars. Again, the sediment stayed stuck to the bottom of the bottle so the wine came out Very clear. Wow, this wine is Delicious, not too sweet, a bit dry like normal wine. Thank you Paw Paw!

Dear Pawpaw, I just had to reach out and share my excitement and gratitude with you! I recently attempted to make your homemade wine following your instructions, and I'm thrilled to say that it turned out absolutely fantastic! After a mere four weeks, the wine was ready to be enjoyed, and let me tell you, it's simply perfect. I can't express enough how grateful I am for your clear and easy-to-follow instructions. Thanks to your guidance, I was able to create a delightful wine that rivals even the finest bottles I've purchased in the past. The whole process was incredibly straightforward, and I am truly amazed at how effortless it felt. From this day forward, I can proudly say that I will never buy wine again. Why would I, when I have the ability to make such a superb batch right at home? Your recipe has become my go-to, and I am already looking forward to trying out different variations and exploring the world of winemaking further. Once again, I extend my heartfelt thanks to you, Pawpaw. Your expertise and willingness to share your knowledge have truly enriched my life. I am so grateful for this newfound skill and the delicious wine it has allowed me to create. Cheers to you, and to many more successful homemade wine adventures! With utmost appreciation, [Your Name]

An update on my process. I started with 4 juice containers and the first to finish fermenting was Welches Concord Grape, I don't know why as I used the same amount of sugar and yeast in each container. So, I racked that into quart mason jars (not advised unless you're into mycology and understand filter lids, or they could blow up) and put them into a nearly-ice cold fridge which I learned causes "cold crashing" which puts the yeast into a dormant state and essentially stops further fermentation. When I racked it, I ran it through coffee filters. First of all, I tested this wine at 17 days and finished it at 20 days. There was sediment in just that 3 days, and a flavor change. Initially it was still quite drinkable (especially after the first cup) and did not cause any GI issues which was a concern. It has a kick to it, definitely stronger than the 10-11% Sangria I typically drink, I don't have a hydrometer but on guesstimation, I think it was around 14-16% ABV. The Welches flavor is strong enough that I could see this being watered down a little bit for people who like weak wines. After letting it sit longer in the fridge, I tried it again and noticed sediment at the bottom of the quart jars along with a better flavor and more clarity. I did not rack 100% of the bottle, just until I hit the muck. I plan to get an auto-siphon in the future, they are cheap. I am allowing my other bottles more time, although I don't see why racking them after fermentation stops is a bad idea because that time to cold-crash and ultimately be able to rack them a second time into proper wine bottles (or any bottle, almost) will yield a better final product in the same duration of time. Unless PawPaw has a good reason for otherwise, it doesn't seem to matter if it is aged with or without racking. Tried mixing up my first mix in the leftover grape juice bottle, I cleaned it very well but didn't have StarSan (yet) so time will tell on mold but wow does the yeast love the pineapple I dumped in there! Will let you know how the full duration / 30 day wines turn out. Then, I am going to get wine yeast designed specifically for 12-14% ABV and compare the two! Did it get me drunk? YES.

Gets his juice and sugar from a dallar store, the yeast from a bakery that gives him a sandwitch bag full for free when he shows up. He even can afford to pay a freind of his to watch over his operation while he is out selling. He pays him in win. Lol

Thank you PawPaw! I am having a blast with you recipy, and I am getting the best wines I have ever tasted. A fun thing: I have a bunch of those "fancy winemakers" at my work. I put some of the wine I made (using your recipy) in a fancy looking bottle, and prited out a label for the bottle, saying "Dampnas bonus vinum" (latin for "damn good wine"). They got very impressed and are still talking about "my winemaking skills". They should only know that I use store bought fruit juice! :) You are the man, PawPaw!

I used to the same with overripe fruit and then i would take a little water distiller, and distill the wine one, two, or even three times. You pour the first little bit of booze that comes out of the distiller out and throw it away because it’s methanol. I made some damn strong moonshine in college.

Oh my gawd Paw Paw! I am drinking my first batch I've ever made from Welch's concord grape! It's been 3 weeks and the bubbling stopped like 3 days ago. I know you recently told me that I should let it sit another week, but I just couldn't wait anymore! All the sediment was settled at the bottom and it was more translucent than when I started and I know it woulda been a little clearer if I waited another week in the fridge. I didn't rack it with a syphon,I used 2 coffee filters and poured slowly then used a fine metal mesh strainer to strain it again. It is incredible! And prior to this I was a beer and whiskey guy, never wine because the fancy shmancy high dollar wine tasted to much like vinegar. This is much sweeter and tastes so good that I think I'ma be a paw paw wine drinker more often! Thanks so much paw paw for sharing this! And it's definitely giving me the PPWW (paw paw wine wiggle)! I put mine in a 64oz Tal stainless steel water bottle, and I added some pure cane syrup along with the sugar. This is my first time, so I hope it works out. I'll find out in few weeks.

Tip: Make sure it does NOT have potassium sorbate in the ingredients for the juice. That stuff prevents the yeast from working and you'll end up wasting time & money.

really, guess this very old 81 yr old man is special then because i don't get that much in a month and im still going strong, got all my own teeth and my hair is still red and that other part of me still functions. maybe im getting something to replace it from the pitchers of margaritas a couple times a week.

interesting way to make alcohol ive seen it done in large batches in mason jars which was by far the strangest at least this method is easy, personally i make my own with 5 - 6 litres of 100% juice 4KG's of sugar and a packet of wine yeast and fill the rest with water in a 30 litre fermentation bucket its a really light tasting "wine". been doing it since i was 17 im 32 now.

Almost 4yrs later and I still pretty much follow your recipes. Muscadines are everywhere here in mizipi this time of year. Getting prepared for a 10 gallon batch. Gunna do a bread yeast batch and a wine yeast batch. If one of the 2 is better than the other then hell ill just combine em lol. Thanks again for your info. You've made myself and allot of folks around me happy this time of year ha ha ha

Hi Papa. I did your 40 sec. wine and I liked it. I saw some "fancy" video about making wine from Kool Ade, and I crossed that with your 40 second wine and here's what I got: Clean juice jug, 2 cups sugar (the Kool Ade is unsweetened), 1 pkg. Kool Ade (Tropical Punch). Pour in 6 cups boiling water (the jug didn't melt), to sterilize everything.. Cap and shake just one quick jerk, loosen cap. Cool to room temp or just a bit warm, add 1/2 tsp yeast, cap, shake like mad, loosen cap and store. Looking forward to results in 1 months.

I waited 3 weeks and used Aldi's Simply Nature Pomegranate Plum juice as well as their Baker's Corner yeast and it came out SO good! A couple of other batches came out overly sweet using different juices, but the Pom-Plum was spot on (for me). I did rack once using a silicone fish tank air hose (worked great) and reused a 32 oz. Kroger Simple Truth glass maple syrup bottle and a 16 oz. IKEA flip top bottle I already had on hand. I would agree that the alcohol seems a bit higher than store shelf bottles. 1-2 small glasses will do it right. The savings is unbelievable to boot! I can't believe how much money I've wasted over the years. In this age of COVID, lockdowns, and all related, having this at-home method in your back pocket will pay off in dividends. I got Cranberry coming up next for a taste test. * wrings hand in anticipation *

First make sure there is no "potassium sorbate" in the juice. It will severely inhibit the natural yeast multiplication process.
