Liz86000 meaghan got her fairytale wedding/prince and 1 year later goes back to her old life with her prince in tow, well-played & very calculated, JMO
@@louise-yo7kz He was Charles' butler first before the legal separation and was around when Camilla stayed with Charles. Of course he also help slip in men for Diana at Kensington after he became her butler. So he know the dirt on both of them.
But at present, amongst the children of the Queen, Prince Edward has turned out to be a hardworking Royal alongside with his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex and the said couple have a successful marriage - well in fact, this year they celebrated their 22nd Wedding Anniversary. He maybe considered before and till now as a “spare” and the title “The Duke of Edinburgh” which was his father’s wish to bestow on him is yet till now unclear if it will eventually be given to him by his brother, Charles - yet still, Prince Edward has been working under the radar and I think he’s doing great as a Chairman of the Trustees of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation which support and encourage young people to hone their skills and eventually succeed in their own chosen fields. It seems the youngest child and the only daughter of Her Majesty turned out to be good at present. The Princess Royal is also remarkable, she’s quite strong and hardworking too.

I think because she died everyone thinks Diana is now a Saint, but she was mentally ill and had affairs of her own. Yes, she was beautiful and brought cute kids into the world (although Harry seems to be mentally ill and living in America now) but she was a sick woman. Always wanted attention, picked the wrong men and did stupid things like getting into a car with a drunk and not wearing a seatbelt. Her risk taking caught up with her.
37:25 Interesting speculation but not always accurate. There were more than 12 people on the balcony this last time for the queen's birthday and they weren't all Charles' family. I think Charles is recognizing that he needs his siblings and his cousins to help meet all the obligations the Royal family has.
Camilla was third party in one marriage. But Diana was third party in many marriages. But she played her victim card very well in the media. So her affairs with multiple married men have been forgotten and forgiven.
Dianna was brought in as a virgin to produce an air - a lamb to the slaughter was left to fend for here self by a cheating from day one of the marriage husband ... Dianna having affairs was a result of that cold hearted freak who then used her children to rehabilitate him self and marry his mistress - so if you ask me Dianna didn't do enough, if she was still alive she should have destroyed them, bring this ridicules monarchy down
@@thoukisth LoL 🤣 She was having affairs with married men while even in marriage. She herself had many issues including mental health. She claimed there's third party in her marriage but she was third party in many marriages. Truth is Charles and Camilla loved each other.
Debraj 96 If Charles loved Camila why did he marry Dianna? What a lying coward! He was having an affair with her even before his marriage and during Camilas! So Camila was cheating on her husband too! And when Di found out that they in prisoned her just so she would produce children like a cow she became bulimic and had affairs too! Thats the correct order and dont try to defend that cold hearted useless family its cheap
@@thoukisth Nobody give a flying fuck about Diana if she was not married in the royal family. Fact was she had mental health issues even before marriages. She had multiple affairs with married men. None of them successful. That shows what kind of person she was. No stability no temperament.
Debraj 96 really!!!! All of the Queens children had affairs all got divorced Antrew was friends with a convicted child rapist (even after his conviction) and your issue is Dianna had mental issues and her affairs didn’t last!!!! Wow!!!
I feel bad for Anne's dog. Dogs usually bite a kid cause the kid is being a dick. Not usually the animal's fault. Teach your kids how to be around animals people.
Diana was good at manipulating the press and the public to side with her, as she boo-hooed her way through interviews, looking oh-so-hurt/poor little me, whingeing and lip-trembling publicly. Never liked her self-serving ways, but also Prince Charles didn't do himself any favours. The fall-out was Camilla Parker-Bowles who was immediately looked down upon. Her death was a tragedy, as anyone's death is, especially under such circumstances, but no sympathy for her. She wanted to be a princess, and she got it. Then decided she didn't like it and used the public to vent her discontent about her life. Poor Fergie was no match and it didn't help that she behaved like an uncouth schoolgirl. And of course, now that the world has found out about Prince Andrew's private activities, we know what an awful abuser he was. "Randy Andy" never stopped being randy -- but not in a good way. It seems Edward is the only 'normal' royal out of the Queen's children. To be fair to Charles, though, he didn't have much of a chance, from the time he was born to now, with a racist, piggy father like Phillip and a duty-bound mother. Interesting documentary.
His face reminds of Robert Dinero. ....only his hair is Richard Gere'ish. (I saw Richard Gere on Graham Norton...and was mortified 😳 he's absolutely grotesque! 🤮)
How could Charles or Andrew be expected to be decent husbands? They had an odd relationship w the women in their life. They were spoiled and detached from reality. There’s no way they were going to know how to properly cherish a wife. With that said i think they’ve learned and I think William and Harry learned as well. They seem like the most normal ones, of course, Diana made a point to instill some sense of normality in to their lives.
Help an American out and tell me what exactly Princess Diana meant when she made the comment about seeing, "the curtains twitching as you walk out." I don't know anything about Coronation Street other than being familiar with the name and I am guessing that is either because the show is or was very well-known and popular in the UK so it has been mentioned in other settings before or else it is simply my mistaking it for something I feel I have heard before. I mean, I am an absolute history nutcase and so I can't fathom that Coronation Street is indeed a crucial road in the history of the UK, especially if truly it is linked with monarchial chronology. Hell, I remember countless times that a street and a coronation played some notorious role together in UK history and that is the Royal Mile in the historical district of Edinburgh...(not trying to jump onto the long-running passive aggressive attitude of considering the UK and England synonymous and the many ways through which, when that bubble is popped, that it always seems to put Scotland into some second, lesser important nation category with even Northern Irish 3rd and Welsh 4th place...I'm not even British and could be so so off on thinking this must be an impression people over there get, I feel it's unmistakable. Geez people sure are soft nowadays. All that blabbering off on a tangent just to write my next thought which I felt would offend...) And if I am familiar with a way it relates to Scotland, SURELY I would be even more aware of any real site in England. So I can only assume that it is indeed not a street but alluding to the show being about a fictional royal family or it is meant as a metaphor as the show is about people ruthlessly trying to class climb. I dunno. So I haven't a clue if content in it gives the comment meaning...I dunno if she means it's infested with rodents who cause the curtains to twitch. I don't know if it means even her home where we picture her able to have a private life is in fact, littered with hidden guards. Or in the same line of thinking, are there men from the Queen's personal intelligence service spying on her from every corner to report back?!?! Maybe it's a spy show. I googled what she meant but nobody has explained it anywhere I can find.
William Hoffman... Many people want to remember Diana as 'perfect' and those of us who are in touch with reality see through this facade... Yes, she left an amazing legacy BUT she broke up a couple of marriages herself... And it goes on and on.
@OnWingsOfHope.. Thank you! I'm fully aware of Charles and the part he played... Personally, I think he was as much of a CAD as Hewitt.. Diana was very good at putting her foot down and getting her own way... So was Charles.. They both ought be ashamed of the way they carried on publicly towards each other, both divas.
Neither was the queen. She shouldn't have forbidden Charles to marry Camilla in the first place. Look where it got all of them. I am actually happy that this man and woman are allowed to be together officially now (still not ok to cheat on Diana and get her liefe ruined, but I don't like it when people say that Camilla's the bad one, because it is much, much more complicated than that.
I enjoyed the fact that these white haired men were reflecting on the great British Public. I am of the generation of the Queen and her husband's children, born between Charles and Anne. As well as watching documentaries about them I read biographies and novels. Philosopher Kings like Charles are never going to win popularity competitions (yes I know he is not king yet). I am a huge fan of Charles for his environmental efforts particularly. Yes I know from my reading that he is like the rest of us imperfect and vulnerable prone to mental health issues(son William is my source here) and a workaholic (wife
The Queen doesn’t own Windsor Castle, nor Buckingham Palace. They are owned by the government for use of the sovereign. The same way the Prime Minister doesn’t own 10 Downing, nor do American Presidents own the White House. As a national symbol, they are for the tax payers to fund.
MUMMY HAS A SPOILED BOY THAT MAY CLING TO MUMMY WHEN HE IS GROWN. , AND STILL SAYS MUMMY THIS MAKES HIM.KIND OF SWEET PERSON TOWARDS HIS WONDERFUL MOTHER THE WONDERFUL QUEEN ,
She is a “take no prisoners” kind of person who seems like someone who would have made a great military commander under different circumstances. She’s much more like the Duke of Edinburgh than HM, actually. Neither have the slightest tolerance for what they consider foolishness! She’s taken such flak for her appearance, which is in reality always appropriate if not stylish, and herself has said she doesn’t look like anyone’s idea of a Princess. That must be hard on a woman esp. when she was younger. And she has said she doesn’t like children but apparently has been a great mum. Definitely a complex character and truly a workhorse who believes in earning her keep.
And I have to admit time has turned me into a POW fan. He seems like very much a product of his upbringing, for better or worse, but has found ways to accomplish great things via the Prince’s Trust, Highgrove as a beacon of organic farming and gardening, wildlife preservation, etc. I think he’s someone who would be charming and fascinating one on one but comes across worse on paper.
I think I prefer having Diana's sons and grandchildren, but people should probably let Camilla alone. Charles and Diana were a bad match without another woman being involved.
iluvcamaros I don’t think people mean it in the sense that they wish William & Harry weren’t who they are. It’s just that hindsight is 20/20. Watching how Charles & Diana’s married years played out-even from that early interview where he doesn’t seem to get ‘whatever in love means,’ I think it’s clear that he found the right person for him a long time ago. The rules of the monarchy made it impossible & they all paid for it. Ultimately, Charles marrying Camilla & then Harry marrying Megan is rather groundbreaking when you consider that it wasn’t even 100 years ago that King Edward VIII was pushed out/abdicated over his desire to marry an American non-virgin divorcée.
Diana was a direct descendant of King Charles II, a royal line with perhaps more right to the throne than the Windsor’s. (Charles II had no legitimate heirs because his wife couldn’t have children). Princess Diana also inspired millions. Her beautiful magazine covers often brightened my dreary Alabama childhood in the ‘80s and ‘90s. I’m sorry for Charles, but I’m glad the world got to know Diana.
Debby R ..but her bloodline did not mean much when her emotional imbalance came close to destroying the monarchy. She WAS more popular than the Queen, lets be truthful, and you think that did not irritate Elizabeth?
Kudos! Very informative and wonderful insight. I enjoyed learning the other side of the Royal Family. Humanizing them gave me a different respect for the individual person and their own trials and tribulations. Being from the U.S. we only hear about the big stories - usually the scandals, weddings or births. We don’t see the day to day work they all do. And now, with the recent news, I truly hope there’s a continuation on this documentary.
I loooove to see the director, editor and journalists in Hello, the magazine has always been at home since I was little and read both the Spanish and the British issue😍😘😘😍😘😘😘biiiiig huggggggggggg
At least Prince Edward and his wife Sophie and their beautiful kids has not let the Oueen down. Thank you Andrew for what you did when Windsor Castle was burning. As for your daughters...you and Fergie can be proud of them and same goes for the Princess Royal and her children. Princess Diana will be so proud of William and Catherine and her grandchildren . SHE and William and Catherine is well aware of Harry's struggle and loves him. About Charles is first in line to the throne but the sooner he abdicates the more simpathy he could pray for. .. He is so unpopular as well as Camilla...shame! Thats what you both deserve!!!!!
*Ya, I barely know anything about him.. they really don't show him much on anything.. I thought that stupid program they did year's ago was Andrew's idea! Totally forgot she had 3 son's!*
Neither the royal family, nor the crown estate, is worth $88 billion. Also, they didn't decided they were constitutionally required for government. The Parliament of the UK decided that it was necisarry for a monarch to exist, therefore, its up to the parliament to provide for it.
The man is an infidel of the first order! He married Diana for all the wrong reasons and them proceeded to make her life a living hell. That she was able to survive the hell Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles put her through is a credit to Diana's magnanimity. The fact that Charles and Parker-Bowles are now married does not absolve them of the fact that they engaged in an adulterous relationship while Charles was still married to Diana and Parker-Bowles was also married. Everything that happened to Diana, including her death, can be traced back to Charles and how he treated her as his wife. The Lord holds the husband accountable for the health of the marriage. Charles' marriage to Diana was dead on arrival and it was all HIS doing! And he and his daddy called HER crazy! She thought she married a prince. He turned out to be a poisonous frog!
@@fancybrooks3156 I agree. The one great part of that marriage is the boys. Without the marriage there would be no William or Harry. Those two represent a tribute to their mother. Without them, the monarchy would be gone.
@@kidscats3952 Yes, the boys are most certainly a blessing! And to think that he actually used their goodness to rehabilitate himself and that thing to which (I know; it should be 'to whom', but I have nothing but disdain for the woman) he's now married!
My mom forgot my 7th birthday... 23/1/59 - no big deal..I myself had not realized or remembered either... personally feel the mothers giving birth shld be heralded on those days...
As an American (native Texan), I enjoyed this program immensely. We are fascinated by the mere fact that the RF are still viable in this day and age; their wealth and pampered lives notwithstanding. I cannot imagine one person to whom I would curtsy or bow, regardless of his station. I wonder if the citizens of the UK and Commonwealth will one day decide to stop paying for this family's outrageous lifestyle and call a halt to their support?
We just paid for our President and his entire pampered family plus spouses to go visit the queen, we also pay enormous amounts for them to fly back and forth to Mar lago which does absolutely nothing for us as taxpayers. The royals have worked their entire adult lives for their country including doing service in the military (even the queen was a military driver in her youth). Lets remove the log from our own eye before we call out the speck in theirs.
We're just not accustomed to the bowing and scraping bit. As far as the Institution of the Monarchy you have to take History and Tradition into the weighing up. The Royal House is part of their National identity. Just how many Working Royals taxpayers want to subsidize should be determined by the public. This is a family with more personal wealth than many Third World countries. Clearly, they can pay for themselves.
