PAYBACK! How Defeat Forced Pacquiao To LEVEL UP His Boxing Style

Manny Pacman was a one handed fighter, relying on his insane left to blast his way to championships. Legendary coach Freddy Roach was trying to change all that by the time he faced Erik Morales, but old habits die hard. The loss would force Pacquiao to become the perfect boxing weapon in order to continue his relentless pursuit of more belts in higher and higher weight classes. Sometimes it's our losses that bring the greatest victories.

🇵🇭 Sad to say, Manny has this Habit, or say Dumb Move of still coming forward even with two seconds left. Classic example is with Hatton. He still came forward and Hatton let out a punch. If that Hit Manny, we don't know what'll happen. That Manny Habit is stupid. Instead of letting go of the dying seconds, he still moves forward even if he doesn't let loose punches. Instead, he got caught by the waiting and injured Marquez. Dumb move isn't it?

As the video came to an end, you unknowingly spoke about challenges in the closing of your video that really, really hit home for me. I was in a really dark place before I watched this video, a place that any single father raising two young girls should never find himself in. …brother I sincerely thank you, i know it wasn’t your intention when you made this video but something in that closing statement and watching Pacquiao really woke me. Manny entered the manual labor work force by choice at 12. Let that sink in. He has dense bones. He has the same wrist size as Mike Tyson and Joe Louis. That's from working the docks and construction as a little kid. With that kind of mental strength and motivation, he had nowhere to go but up. Great video. I agree that the 1st fight was the perfect storm that started Manny's evolution. Other main takeaways from the 1st: Erik gave one of his greatest boxing performances. Pacquiao's management agreed both use the Winning gloves brand that diminished his punching power. Pac had to give blood 24 hours before weigh in due to The Commission supposedly losing record of his bloodwork!. The cut from a headbutt. All that aside, not using his preferred Reyes was the clincher. In the rematch you can tell the punishing effect it had on Morales you didn't see before. The KO was the tell the impact it had that suits Manny's puncher style better. The rubber match was like Agent Smith fighting Neo when he already became The One.

As usual, well done analysis so far :D But those gloves in fight one. Winning Gloves are like pillows. They remind me of Ringside 10oz pro gloves. You can safely use them to spar, and work on the bag lol. They are dense pillows that protect the hand and dampen a lot of power. Manny needed that crack to hurt Morales since he didnt have the same toolbox. He didnt have the pop yet like say Inoue has to punch through that padding to hurt his man. He always like Reyes cause it was directly a punchers glove. I am betting he felt like he was impacting nothing every time he did land. EM certainly didnt show ANY damage from those shots first match either. He outworked and controlled Pac, but notably a good number of the crisp shots Pac landed back didnt do a lot. You saw the IMMEDIATE difference next fight right away when he had on a punchers glove.

The first fight is probably my fav fight all time, morsels actually switch in the 10 round the final 10 seconds Or so and have some success in the 11 th he actually tried to switch but the round finished so he probably forgot lol in the 12 he probably lost the future fights but he won immortality, technically in this fight he achieve the top imo counters that are in my top all time against the Pac-Man who have destroyed Barrera and Marquez via speed and volume, not easy feat to defend counter eat and survive, he won the boxing match and he won the inside fight.

Pacquiao didn’t ’level up’. He forced Morales to drop weight in the second fight.

Morales fought Zahir Raheem at 135 that same year and lost bad. He really didn't have any more success fighting above Super Featherweight the rest of his career.

Let em know. He had no business facing Erik after he lost to Raheem. He was watching that fight and even though Zahir was really a big nobody, he should’ve faced him. How you face an old Erik after watching him lose his last fight and then want him to drain in weight? Travesty.

Is this really the debut of Pacquiao in 130 ponds division? And he fought immediately a high caliber fighter like morales, no tune up fight or something since he's still new in that division?

Honestly if Morales held firm in the final round of the first fight, it was mentally speaking because physically Morales' legs were leaving him little by little. They were slipping from the hard shots affecting his overall balance.
