Got my first chop hops in, but did not ride away from any. Happy to launch, land and wipeout! Sailed 5.5 all day, really gusty low 20s to upper 30s. Roughest water I have sailed in to date. Learned a lot, and built some confidence too despite the beating I took. Best sport ever!

Alright Jake! Looks like you got baptized in more of an open ocean sailing environment and took your falls but you still went out there and did it! It's the motion of the ocean that you have to deal with in certain locations and the rollers can get quite big. It's a whole other ball game when you are trying to sail in ocean swells and waves compared to the flat water of the bay at home but you're out there living your passion for the sport! 👍🤸‍️

Nice beachstart/waterstart at 2:25. I envie your locatioon with warm temps and wind! However, messing around in murky waters in a place called Alligator Bay sounds a bit less tempting!

LOL! and some kid in the past had got Brain Eating Amoeba there too and was told to be sure to use Swimmers Ear drops after sessions there LOL! Yeah I got lots of starting practice in that session and also some Uphauling practice in the choppy stuff.

Awesome man. This was Friday? It was so nuts. People were going out on 4s and I had to come in with my 5.6 because I couldn't hold it. What did you think of the chop there? Was it predictable or not? I would not have wanted to be out in a spot with a sea wall/reflective wave spot.

Yeah Friday! Others were on 4s. The chop was a lot of fun! It would only lineup right on Starboard tack, but that worked with the Sun angle too. It was consistent. Will definitely do that again. And go further down the bay too. There is a sandbar out there. Can’t see it due to water color. Always like tea in that bay but I will explore it more now that I have some more confidence and experience there.

@@gusthunter8780 Consistent is good. Outside at scenic is bigger in smaller winds but predictable (for the most part) like that. And if it's bigger and the wind is lighter it can help push you onto plane earlier
