You're a star, take the shot! I have my own criticisms about Tatum's shot selection, but he's been a rock for this team in every facet of the game, and it's increasingly tiring listening to people moan about his points.

Agree...he effects the game in other ways...Rebs., assists and defense. But as a Superstar, his efficiency has been less than average for the playoffs. If he's gonna get 20 pts., his line should read 9-15 or 9-16. 20 pts., 12 rebs., 7-8 assists and a defensive presence.

@@KingJerbear Read what I said. I'm criticizing his EFFICIENCY! He's been the 3rd leading scorer on the Celtics in these playoffs. And shooting 40% and 25% on 3s. You think that's gonna be OK if they make it to the finals? Miami had a G-league roster, and Clevelands team is far inferior to the Celtics. If D. White or JB have a down game...and this is what Tatum gives you when you need him to take over...don't cry about it...He's a 1st team all-NBA Player and superstar. LFG...

@@asid448 you realize basketball doesnt revolve around how many points 1 player scores? its a team effort, Jayson Tatum has been outstanding on the defensive end and still scores at will. We're so good as a team that Jayson Tatum doesnt have to take all the shots, we can rely on other players (Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Jrue Holiday) hopefully you get my point on that one. JT is constantly taking on double teams and consistently making the right plays to get his teammates open. Has he been absolutely electric hitting every shot this playoff year? no, but scoring alone doesnt help you win games, its the small things that matter, and Jayson Tatum does all the small things WHILE being a superstar, he has an off night offensively and STILL scores 18 points. Tatum has been so good the last 4 years in the playoffs, but the one knock on him was his turnovers, Tatum is averaging the least amount of turnovers throughout his playoff career EVER at 1.6 turnovers per game, this is improvement on fundamentals

@@asid448 If he misses them he misses them. He's obviously in the gym but sometimes it does not fall the right way. His shot selection has gotten a lot better and I do not find myself thinking that there's a shot that he should not have taken. Most of the shots he takes, he definitely should be taking. If he did not then the front office would probably have a talk with him.

He can step up when needed! This is best version of this Celtics team because they're super versatile on both sides of the ball. This year is way different than years past! Once we win the Chip, haters will shut up!!

JT: 18 pts, 11 rebs (2 off), 5 asts, 3 blks... sounds like all round great game. plus he was getting double and triple-teamed. making a shot under that type of crowding is crazy when a great shooter is already open.

THANK YOUR PRITCHARD! I've been saying the same thing. Only casual fans are being critical of Tatum when he has been impactful across the board outside of his inefficient shooting. I myself have been critical of Tatum in the past because when his offense wasn't clicking, he would be almost useless but that has been far from the case this postseason. When teams begin to adjust and key in on the other guys more and Tatum starts to go off offensively again, I don't wanna all of a sudden hear the shower of praise from the same haters.

Tatum sure could do that when he was drafted and he did. The reason Antman does it is because his team needs it. C's need balance and for Tatum to play in the flow of the game. If Ant was getting the defensive attention Tatum gets he'd have to do the same.

@@tylerriley2587 I'm sure Antman does, but I know Tatum does. He has shown it plenty of times. The problem with Tatum is he doesn't trash talk, he isn't super vocal he just plays. So people assume he doesn't care, but I guarantee that is not the case, he cares a lot. He knows what his team needs and tries to fill the gaps.

Wow amazing performance by Boston Celtics and the whole team that has sacrificed so much for their team and their teammates they totally deserved this win by the way they played this game and this game one . If they keep playing like they played this series and elevating their game to adjust to their opponents they will definitely win the championship this year. And it definitely starts with winning the second round of this series Amazing and good job by the whole Celtics on the defense end and the offense end of the floor.This is what the Celtics is supposed to do if they want to keep advancing to the third and thr fourth and fifth round and when the NBA championship including beating who is awaiting them in the later rounds. This was a great night for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White who lead the Celtics this game.

Love that take on end-of-quarter 3s. I mean, Hartenstein proved this in the Knicks-Pacers series. He drained an end-of-half buzzer beater - a total fluke, from behind mid-court, still worth 3 points! And he ain't even a long range shooter...

@@schuylersavage276 Right... v. cool shot! he could shoot that a 1000 other times and hit nothing 😂 the game though, hinged on that awful "kicked ball" call which was a hand deflection (by Nesmith, i think). i felt the Pacers had a right to be p*ssed at the refs for that, it totally altered the outcome with like 40 seconds to go. there has to be some way of undoing these absolutely sh!te decisions by refs... outside of the challenge.

Why unfortunately. Dudes about to make 400 mil. The proclaimed best player in the league. 5/14. 6/16- 7/18-- 7/19. 4/9 10/20. 30% from 3's. Ya'll would be murdering brown and have many times. JT rebounding is good with 5 assist. So fans are upset someone would like to see a more efficient offense . These same crybaby's are the first ones to blast JB n Joe😂

I keep saying this. There’s more to basketball than just what you see. There’s also strategy. Idk if this is what they are doing but they may know all these teams are coming in going “okay we have to guard Tatum, make sure we guard Tatum” and the C’s know this so they’re like okay let them focus on guarding Tatum while we give JB, D White, Jrue, PP or whoever the ball to score while Tatum distracts the defense. We have yet to have a game in the playoffs this year that we’ve needed JT to be the beast he is and take over the game. They’re saving that for the finals.

This is crazy Tatum is getting more criticism now than last year when the Celtics were down to the Heat 0-3. Now they are 5-1 in this years playoffs it just does not make sense. If we want to complain about things complain about the Red Sox or that the bruins won't win another game this playoffs

Media like ESPN just hates on the Celtics. When the Celtics win, the regular season doesn’t matter, and now that it’s the playoffs, nothing matters unless they win a title. They win a game by 25 points, well JT didn’t score as many points as we think he should. It’s ALWAYS something! Ignore these bums and go bring home banner 18!

People who only glance have these kinds of criticisms, just for the sake of having a conclusion about the game. You see a lot of complaints if Hauser or Pritchard don't hit five or six three's, and if their +/- for the game was +20, as usual, somehow that's not good enough.

The way I see it Tatum is building confidence in his teammates. Trusting them a bit more. This will be huge in order to be successful moving forward. Tatum will be huge for us when we need him most…
