This was my first time watching a speedrun for this game, I thank RU-vid for recommending this Video. The routes and strats are really nice to watch. Congratulations on the record!
This run was truly blessed. Achieved the record after the announcement of the Classic Collection. Not only that but it was (according to the timer) the 2024th attempt. Man this truly is the year of classic Star Wars Battlefront. What an incredible run! GG! Also shoutout to the Tekken Tag Tournament music at the end. Another incredible game.
Im...im just speechless. I'd never think that a game I've played sense I learned how to walk had a speed running community. Here I thought I knew so much on how to cheese this game to its fullest. Damm well proved wrong with this. You sir are truly amazing and deserve much more amazing growth to you and your community. Can't wait to see what more will happen with the classics being re released and seeing how far you and the rest push them. Live long and prosper and may the force be with you, always.
RU-vid just suggested your speedrun for this masterpiece from the better age, I thought would watch 1-2 minutes, but was counting 10 9 8 with you at Hoth mission. So well done. Can't wait to play Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection (aka remastered) when it'll be released. Gj gl and peace to your home.
the funniest thing is that most of us speedrunners are not actually that good online, like I have played a couple of competitive games before and I get destroyed by every person. If you want to see how good some people are, you can try to look into the BCL community.
Does anyone know if there was a reason he was standing there? Like waiting for a load or something? This is my first time watching a BF II speedrun so idk. Just doesn't make sense to me he would stand there for no reason
@atten1033 Yup. Unless there is a glitch found that skips it. It's just part of the normal gameplay. Some games have stuff that make you wait and others do not. I like to watch Need For Speed Most Wanted speedruns and the challenge series has a 30 minute police chase to do. Speedrunners just sit on top of a bus station where the police cannot get them until the time limit.
gamer: forced to wait 30 seconds by the game for the next objective comments: WHAT A LEGEND OMG I CANT BELIEVE WHAT IM SEEING RIGHT NOW IM PISSING AND SHITTING
*Wow i totally forgot about this game. So ahead of its time. Still beats some modern games hands down in entertainment value and replayability. I pray they remaster something like this and it gets a big online presence*
You’re in luck! A remaster is literally being released for og Battlefront and Battlefront II across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Steam on the 14th March!
I know I can’t wait for us to experience our childhood favorite Star Wars game back in all of its glory!!!! And a good chance for Gen Z to experience a REAL Star Wars game! 😂❤
Hey there! On Kashyyyk, the goal is to neutral a CP so that it is easier for a future objective, as it will save about 10-12 seconds. Kaz is team killing to stop them from re-capturing the CP.

You can infinite run with heroes by using block when your stamina is very low (almost depleted) and then your spring key (default is shift). Doing it this way will prevent you from having to time it perfectly, like you have to do with infantry characters. Another way you could save time is (with any force power other than saber throw selected) by blocking and then immediately tapping your sprint key to resume the sprint. Doing that will enable you to not break your sprint while in midair and would save time in a few places. You can also throw multiple times with heroes by either rolling or jumping, but I'm not sure whether that would save much if any time. Another trick is to run without your saber by switching to push after throwing.
Cool speedrun dude! I remember playing this for hours as a kid. I remember having a lot of fun with the space battles that I'd always lose lol. Why aren't there any space battles in the speedrun? I remember there being one after like every land mission??
Since this is an Any% speedrun, it means that we can hit the Bypass Space button when given the option since it’s naturally faster than completing the mission normally - a campaign mode speedrun that includes the space missions is called ‘All Missions’
This is one of the speedrun strats that we can use here! By sprinting and reducing our energy all the way to zero; while still holding the sprint, we can then hit the Lightsaber Block button and Roll button to trigger an infinite sprint! This works because the PC port uses separate key binds for roll and sprint meaning that we can buffer the roll after the block on 0 energy which then tricks the game into the sprint. Hope that makes sense, and thanks for watching!
I really like your speed run, good luck to you! are you going to do a speed run of space battles too?? because I think it’s a shame that she’s not there
There is a campaign mode speedrun called “All Missions” where playing the space missions is mandatory, so I could think about running that category in the future!

I have plans to release a series of videos to explain the strats used in the world record, mission by mission, so make sure to subscribe to know when that gets released! Thanks for watching!
If you want a video with a little bit more explanations in it, you can look at this previous WR. It used some different strats, but it should give you the basics of how the run works. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KGXkJh0sHEw.htmlsi=ZOr_YSVKHZCj3Ugx
Friendly fire is enabled for some specific strats in Kashyyyk and Coruscant In Kashyyyk, it allows me to perform the advanced strat which involves ensuring that command post #1 is neutral at the end of the second objective to retreat behind the sea wall - the best way for this to work is by allowing team kills to prevent clones and wookiees from taking back the command post In Coruscant, the Jedi are very prone to accidental teamkills during the Library objective which adds extra leniency when I'm doing the turret strat Although friendly fire is also enabled in Utapau, there's no major difference aside from the convenience of not needing to remember to switch it off, then on again, etc. Otherwise, friendly fire is disabled so that my own explosive don't do damage to me across all other missions. Thanks for watching!
Incredible run my man! I used to play this game so much like 15 years ago and had every elite weapon except the rocket launcher. Does anyone know how to complete that challenge??!
Getting the remote rocket involves hitting the critical spot of a vehicle 4 times in one life, however the easiest way to cheese this is by playing on a 0 AI Hoth match as the rebels and shooting at the AT-AT neck until youve earned the award 64 times! Thanks for watching!
So how does the damage work with the beam sniper? I've had it many times and it always hits like wet noodle, like it always felt inconsistent to register hits and actually damage what you're trying to hit, is it tied to framerate or something?
From my experience, while the normal sniper hits the target once and does a set amount of damage, the beam rifle will do damage against a target for each frame/tick that they are in contact - that’s how I’m able to deal damage to multiple enemies while strafing during the first Mygeeto objective. I agree that the beam rifle is lacking as an actual sniper weapon with a slow action, only one zoom and found that it’s possible to aim directly for the head and still miss! But as a short/mid-range weapon, it’s useful against groups of enemies or tanky boss’s like Gizor Delso
Yes!! As a casual it’s great to see so many people get hyped over this release across modern consoles, and as a speedrunner it’ll be interesting to see what changes are made to the routes! I’m also planning on doing a Day One stream on my Twitch channel too! Thanks for watching!
‘Any%’ means that we play the Campaign mode while allowing missions skips for the space missions. ‘With Bonuses’ refers to the award weapons and buffs that are automatically gifted at the beginning of each mission by getting legendary status on various medals like Gunslinger for the award pistol, etc.
the thing about this run is that you might have noticed that he took one of the cps before the last objective started. It saves a lot of time, but the droids will try to recapture it wich makes it a problem if you only can do shortrange damage like with Yoda.
