woke up thinking I wonder if the hit and run can become a hermit style rig..
YES is the short answer
I think the inline will work better.
Remember the elastic will come out of the tail rubber when you have a fish on, make sure the elastic is able to pull free under light tension, you must not tie the swivel to the clip or do anything that makes the rig unsafe.
