As a tourist who has traveled here many times for many months at a time the focus should be to fix the nonsensical public transportation system here in the Phillippines. The subway should be where government money should be spent as well as the airport(s) because it is atrocious. There's also way too many scammers when it comes to every single aspect of this country whether it's taxi drivers, tricycles, governmental bodies, restaraunts, currency exchanges, anything sold on the street, I have to have my girlfriend with me at all times to make sure I am not getting ripped off or put in danger by everyday people. There is so much wrong here, but a lot of Filipino problems will be alleviated with a better subway system, government run ferries, and less taxes/fees for anything to do with the government.

Corruption in the Philippine government still exists as well as criminality and safety.
