Great presentation! Every time I thought, "But what if you had a more powerful CPU (or GPU) than that, well, you then covered exactly what I was wondering about... the principles still apply, in relative terms, a couple of years later.

Great video 👍 I'd also add that since the GPU will generally be significantly your most expensive part (the heart of your gaming system), it's the one part that you absolutely gotta make sure is not bottlenecked - or else you're wasting your money. And honestly if you are mostly playing GPU-bound games (which are 90+% of AAA games these days), it's really easy to avoid a non-GPU bottleneck, for as long as you don't try to pair with a really old/outdated CPU (anything older than 9th gen i5 or 2nd gen Ryzen 5). And for crying out just put in 16GB of RAM of the specified speed - anything less and you could be creating a RAM bottleneck - all to save at best 20-40 bucks 😅 And lastly just get a mainstream 1 TB SSD! Nothing fancy, preferably PCIe over SATA given the prices are pretty much even - don't overthink it, any (of the reputable brands) will do.

None of these videos really talk about people that can't afford even mid range cards at the moment and are stuck on the older cards because of costs as we have families and lives. People know what a bottle is. Just show numbers of dye sizes and fsbs etc. Not showing off top of the range stuff for sponsors.

Honestly I just want to know what are the specifications that are relevant with bottlenecks, I want numbers, metrics, bitrate, hertz ecc. and not products pairing, it's useless for me to know what product goes with what without knowing what specific stat is relevant, otherwise it's nothing more that "trust me, buy this or that"

I've found a 5800x and an RTX 3080 are absolutely perfect with one another for high refresh 1440p gaming, no need to go with anything else if that's what you're after.

Would a ryzen 5 5600x paired with a 1060 6gb or maybe a 1070 gpu bottleneck ? I would be getting a 30 series card but prices are a bit too far fetched for me right now.

I have a question about that bottlenecking at 1080p analogy. When people say its going to be a problem at 1080p what do you mean by that? playing at 1440p or 4k you would have less fps than you would at 1080p. So are you saying at 1440p or 4k the fps will be more smoother and stable than 1080p? For example, Pairing a 5800x with an RTX 4080 people would say bottleneck hard. And yes you wont get the same fps you would on a newer cpu but wouldnt the frames still be good even at 1080p?

Please help. I am not given a proper video on definitively checking RAM bottleneck. not just explaining how that RAM is a bottle necks and how that impacts . but HOW TO actually check if there is a RAM bottleneck I am not sure if I have a ram bottleneck and Am not equipped to check. 1. Updated bios 2903 2. Looked at CPUZ - as with Alex video but not sure what to look for in JEDEC 3. Taskman shows RAm never exceed 8 GB 4. Do not have an XMP or DCOP option, only Manual or Auto. I have an asus z790m Plus 1150, 2 hyperx Fury 1866 Jdec shows 837 and 888 888 888 on the CPU z - not sure if an issue Recommendation: Most bottleneck videos talk about GPU and CPU but not how to identify if ram is DEFINITIVELY bottlenecked by BIOS and Windows Checks. Create a video focused solely on RAM bottleneck diagnostics

I have a i7 7700k 4.2 Ghz with a 3080 RTX. And 16 gb ram. I have water cooling for my cpu but Still my pc gets very warm just after 15 minutes and I get to tempretures of 75 to 90 celsius. After 1 hour in game I get down from 120 fps to 40 fps. What can it be? Thanks for help in advance :)

I have a 3700x and RX 6800 xt and I believe I have a slight CPU bottleneck. Running at 3440x1440 and in lots of games my gpu is running at about 80% load. I'm trying to reach 100 fps to meet my monitors 100hz refresh and no setting will help me reach that. For example at native resolution I will get 85fps at 80% gpu load. And dropping the rendering resolution to 50% and I will still get 85fps and gpu would drop to 50% load. This indicates to me that the CPU is not fast enough to pump out more that 85 fps no matter what setting. And the GPU is waiting for CPU for new instructions.

Hi, please i need help. I have a old system, i recently upgraded my gpu from zotac gtx 1650 to pyn rtx 3060 ti, but i still get poor performance in games, around 40 to 55fps on ultra settings at 1080p My system is Lenovo s30 with - xeon e5 1650 v2, clock speed 3.5 to 3.9 mhz, 6 cores 12 threads. - 16gb ddr3 ram running at 1333mhz - 610w 80 gold + power supply, i am using a 6 pin to 8 pin power supply adapter for providing power to the gpu. - Gpu, Pyn rtx 3060 ti 8gb ddr6

I'm a noob so bare with me here. If im getting good frames with something like a 5800x and a 4090 but im using 1080p and missing out on those extra frames since i didnt upgrade my cpu, your saying at 1080p even though im getting better performance than 1440p and 4k , it will stutter at 1080p because of high cpu usage? like i dont understand the term bottleneck clearly it dosent make sense when people say "your bottlenecked at 1080p" i mean huh? arent i getting more fps at 1080p than 1440p and higher? Than why does it matter?

I have 3900x and rx480 16 gb 3200mhz ram. Thanks to shortages etc that’s all I can live with now or if things don’t improve- for a very long time!
