It wasn't ahead of its time at all. Everything this game 'innovated' was done by Thief 4 years earlier except better with more atmosphere and a far better, deeper, more intricate setting.

@Dean Siroit metal gear solid almost introduced me to splinter cell I guess you could say, but I believe I only played the first metal gear... splinter cell and games like ghost recon were huge obsessions of mine, splinter cell especially.
Man this game is intense. So many times i was on the edge on my seat because of the alarms. Furthermore that sudden "thump" sound when the enemy detects something gives that mini heart attack to the system.
it is amazing, I played this game when I was little and I loved it and with so much detail. Looking back at it and actually seeing that this game came out 2002 I realized how awesome this game must have been when it came out. I mean for a game in 2002 this game must have had one of the best mechanics and graphics out there :O I played it like friggin 8 years or so after it came out and it was still feeling like an awesome lookin game!!!

CIA HQ is the first level in the Splinter Cell game where you are equipped with thermal vision goggles, an SC20K Assault Rifle, a variety of protectiles including: sticky cameras, ring airfoil rounds, and sticky shockers.

Arfat, Keith is right that you have to hide all bodies in the shadows or else it is mission fail. You will trigger alarms if you don't hide the bodies and or being spotted.
Too bad you didn't show us all the data sticks. Those make for some really good flavor text, and whoever doesn't like it can just skip it. Not like it's hard, just tap the right arrow on your keyboard to FF 5 seconds or tap your mobile screen twice to FF 10.

Joshhhuaaa- the hd collection released for ps3 are pc ports of splinter cell .not consoles .so any special features/missions found on ps2 were not present.which doesn't get to me one bit

I was having the same problem, I don’t fully understand how the game works but it seems that you’ll have to make sure to interact with the computer in the server room again, if you’re still having the same issue go back to an old checkpoint or restart the mission. That’s how I managed to continue.
You have to get to the cia server room and use the computer to update your objectives Then get back to the elevator behind the turret shooting range and you can use it. I had the same issue with it and it has been resolved with using the cia server room
you have to wait until the one guy finishes his monologue.. in case you don't know it yet.. You can also run at them and knock them both out before the second guy can set off the alert..
PS has cut content in all SC games due to processing power incapabilities in comparison to the home device for the franchise Xbox, I'm pretty sure. Double Agent is the only game without large chunks missing and altered storylines that don't make sense
