Well, dang it - the grades weren't exactly what you were expecting, but at least you didn't have my usual problem of having a few coins be "genuine not gradable! I love these unboxing videos though!

It's obvious you are trying very hard to get most of these one grade above what they actually are for an increased value, but PCGS is coming back with what I know you are aware these are ACTUALLY at. Good on you for the attempts, but it's obvious they are accurate in all of these. And to be honest they're nice enough to straight grade for you, without UNC details etc, which I know you are fully aware is very obvious on a lot of the lower grades you have submitted. So many of us that don't have a longstanding submission or large volume of submissions to PCGS get shorted on that factor more often that not when we send in 10-20 coins/year vs 100+ annually. Love your videos, but you are definitely in the echelon of high regard when it comes to PCGS.

The middle grades can be very difficult, especially when criteria can overlap or be present for one indicator but not for the other. It’d be cool if PCGS could do a “photo grade quiz” if you will. Like where you can specify the coin and grade range you want to practice, and they show various pictures and you can guess the grades. Probably would hurt their business model though.

Rob, you are really bad at overgrading those circulated Morgans. I watched the video and felt like PCGS was spot-on with their grades. As for the mint state Morgans, I'd much rather have a really nice AU than a MS-62 or MS-63 with a lot of ugly scratches on Liberty's face.

Can I offer some advice when grading lower grade coins like EF-40 down I find its better to grade from the obverse side or head side first then base you grade on that because my experience here in Canada with slabbed graded or locked in plastic flip holders is the grading companies have a tendency to lean more to the condition of the obverse side of the coin I hope this can help in the future cant hurt to try

Another great video as always. The Whitman coin albums I have, have an insert on the grade ranges and what's needed/expected to get those grades for that coin type, e.g. Wahington quarters, Liberty Walking halves, Standing Liberty quarters, etc. Are you familiar with those? If so, in your experience, are they a good guide to use in submitting coins? Or is there a different resource that you may think is better? Looking to submit a couple of coins, which I've never done before, and I don't want to be way off on the submission (getting way lower than I enter, or way higher and owe more). Does it hurt to have the expected grade way off in the submission or is it something they don't even take into consideration? Sorry for all the questions, and if anyone else who reads this would like to put in their two cents worth (pun intended), any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey Rob, man PCGS was brutal on this round. Are you able to appeal any of them for a grading report? Do you have to include the anticipated grade on your order? You're usually spot on with the grades, seems like the person grading these was having a bad day. Always enjoy your unboxing videos brother. Keep it up brother!

Pcgs photograde. learn the photos. Yea that first one was bad mark on cheek for sure. But trust me I am not any grader. Its very hard to get down to what they see.
