Long time ago, when i fixed pcm's, my mail carrier made his 1st stop of the day at my house. Id get the pcm, repair it, and the mail carrier would stop by my house on his way back to the post office and pick up the pcm's fixed on that same day. I called it, fixed and ship same day. 2-4days turn around time. Nowadays its a minimum of 7 days, up to 2 weeks till it arrives back.

I had to unhook my battery on my 07 gmc 1500 about 3 times in one day and now when I turn the key it's doing what the truck in your video is doing. Starts and dies. When I hook up a code reader to the obd2 port it has power but it won't connect. I don't think it's the pcm but I could be wrong. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello. I purchased a 2006 GMC recently. It's a 4x4 with a 4.8L. When I changed oil, it was discovered the new oil filter I bought wouldn't screw on. I crossed referenced the old oil filter I removed, and learned the filter is to fit 2007 4.8L. With this said, I'm assuming the engine was swapped out with 2007 4.8L. How do I confirm this? Is there a serial number somewhere on the block? The truck has oxygen sensor error codes that will not go away. I went thru most of the trouble shooting. Error codes re appear. It also has delayed shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I have to rev to about 3500rpm and let of the accelerator for it to shift. After doin extensive research, it was mentioned the cause of error codes P0131, P0171, P01133, P0300 could very well be from a bad ECM, or better still, the ECM was not switched out to match the 2007 engine, if in fact it is a swapped out engine. Please help! Thank you!

Hey I have a 99 gmc Sierra and I’m getting a p0354 code after removing the intake manifold and cleaning everything, everything is good just not getting a pulse from the PCM done some research and apparently I might need to replace my PCM. Hello there hopefully you guys can answer my question. I bought a new pcm for my 06 Silverado I install and did the new relearn and the truck starts but now I have a check engine light which it didn’t have before and I connect the scanner and I got to codes U1000 and U1301 which mean that pcm and truck aren’t communicating with each other what does this mean do you guys know that maybe the pcm that I bought is no good it was supposedly program to my vin number and flash but after this 2 codes I’m confused

@@SpartanAutoworx I didnt swap pcms.........but I had done a (hard reset: touched together disconnected battery cables for a duration) and then tried 10 mins ON, off X3 times .........during the first session especially there were massive amounts of injection clicks, other parts clicking.....and fuel gauge going crazy. SECURITY wouldnt stay on more than a few seconds- but I stayed w the process. Im going for a (new) PCM next. thanks!

I have a 2005 2500HD silverado 6.6liter. Trying to remove the diablo sport tuner and install my EFI live progrmamer. I am unable to remove the diablo or load the EFI live over the Diablo???? I have replaced the knock sensors in my 2004 Chevy two days later I get PC codes of knock sensors again had them checked had them warranty back out and still getting knock sensors now they're telling me I need a PCN does that sound familiar or am I being taken advantage

The likelihood of a bad PCM for knock sensors is slim. I’ve been down this road before with a few other customers that’s never fix the problem. You must use AC Delco components including the wiring harness that usually fixes the problem also torque the sensor to the correct torque. Believe it or not that’s important

They are general motor knock sensors I had put in and wiring harness and new gaskets it has been in the shop three different times they even warrantied out the knock sensors and replace them again about every two days afterwards the check engine light comes on and it says knock sensors now they're telling me it's the PCM I've got one ordered but they say there's only two in the whole warehouse and they can't find them I'm really wanting to get to the bottom of this problem I've had the whole truck restored and now I'm scared to drive it because of the check engine light I'm going to go ahead and have the PCM put on when they do find it and yes it is a general motor PCM it is being put in by a licensed mechanic and at a dealership same way with the knock sensors so I don't know what else to do

I have an 04 gmc 2500 hd. My probelem is that while driving down the highway my torque converter unlocks. The dealer said that when it was happening on the road with the scan tool on it and everything checked ok, so they said the only thing it could be is the PCM, but they will not guarantee that this will fix it. This truck has 87,000mi. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!!! Thanks in advance.

@@SpartanAutoworx When I'm driving and around 55 mph the rpms will drop and sometimes the truck looses power and the gauge will say its in 2nd gear and no power to the truck at all, and sometimes the rpms will drop and then it will go back to normal

Driver side Behind the dash. Take the cover off the Drivers door IPC fuse box and look up in there. Two plugs silver box.

A Diablo tuner wiped my computer clean, I sent it to Diablo and they re flashed it, I put it in and it started right up and I drove it for about 5 minutes. Everything works and it drives and runs just like a stock 05 GMC 5.3 should. Should I be concerned? I didn't watch this video until after I did this. Any help would be appreciated

We do not repair FORD ECMs. Sorry As for using a different PCM the only 09 PCM that will work with 07 is 7T4A-GE-GH You would need to see what part number you have I show 8 different Interchanges for 2007. So the chance of being able to use the 09 one is very small.

Can you use a scan tool to read the VIN out of the pcm? If no VIN or not correct VIN then its not programmed which would be why the Kewon'tnt relearn. Now we are assuming you have good voltage over 12v when doing the 30min relearn.

For 30min key relearn? If you hard reset with cables you should not have to relearn theft.

I did a 11mins on, 30 secs off~ 3X.......after a hard reset..........and the injectors clicked away madly during the first 11min cycle and flooded all the cylinders w fuel! hydrolocked. I removed all the plugs, turned by hand- and a massive amount of gas poured out of each hole! starting again........ thanks

Strange that this all just happened AFTER I did the (hard restart) by touching the disconnected POSITIVE and NEGATIVE cables for several mins...to clear the capacitors, etc. When I took out the plugs to flush out the fuel- I did notice a cracked exhaust manifold- which very well might be the factor for the P0300 misfire. Ive been struggling for months now : to get the P0300 resolved: so I can clear smog, registration. Cheers!

great informative video. thanks... i have similar issue- purchased new module today, followed steps in video, 2004 yukon fired right up. test drove it, runs great, but still have a slight batt drain and dashboard lights do not turn off with key removed. also- turn signal lights on front make the driving lights blink... not the orange ones. thinking bad ground somewhere? was going to pull all the bulbs and try again to re-create the issue to try and narrow it down? any hints/tips/tr

I wrecked my 01 tahoe it clipped the maf wires and now throws a p0102 p0449 p0443 codes. Put wires back together and still have the codes.. could you it be the pcm?

The p0102 is the only code related to the MAF. The other codes are Evap related. All GM evap is junk replace evap canister and you should be good. Would be wise to do leak test as gas cap or purge vale could also be bad.

Hey buddy idk if you figured it out yet but i had the same issue. My maf wires rubbed bare and touched . I rewired it but had those 3 codes still. It ended up being the "eng1" fuse under the hood. Its a 10. I replaced the fuse and problem solved. Hope this helped

@@SpartanAutoworx it's an 06 silverado with 4.8, says I have 13 to 43 oem enhanced codes and they're all electrical and intermittent.

So if I just want to check the connections on the PCM I can just disconnect them and then plug them back in and be done? I wouldn't have to do the relearn procedure right? That might be a stupid question but I just want to make sure.

Justinj360 correct relearn is only required after a PCM, BCM are only required after one has been swapped. Original configuration requires no relearn even if disconnected.

So I just checked the connections and put it all back together and connected the negative battery cable and now it acts like it needs to be relearned. I don't remember if there was a security light but there were a few of them lit up. It runs for about a second and dies. Instead of using a jump pack can I just use another car like you're going to jump it? Also, my radio won't turn off. Is that normal if it hasn't been relearned? It's a 2004 GMC Yukon. Thanks.

Justinj360 check your security light. If nothing has been replaced it will not be on. I would check and make sure your connections are tight. If you have a code reader check codes clear them then try to restart

The security light only stays on for a few seconds when you turn it to run. It doesn't come on when you try to start. I rechecked the connections and they are tight. It won't let me read codes for some reason. I did have an engine code before this, P0178 for the flex fuel sensor but that's it. Now it also says "unknown driver" in the DIC and won't let you switch drivers or memory seats. No idea what's going on with it now...
