I was stationed at FT Hood from 77 to 79, and you had it good compared to my time there 😁 as for Killeen being that I’m from California ( Latino) my first impression of Killeen was like the scene from Blazing Saddles, when Sheriff Bart rolled into town the music stopped and jaws dropped 🤣🤣 but Austin was the best because I was 17 yrs old when I got to FT Hood, and 20 when I ETS’s!!! Stay strong and thank you for your service and I’m sure the experience of having to grow up pretty quick has made you the person you are now 👏🏻👏🏻

Great video. I have searched everywhere for some info about on post housing. Can you give me any info on Venable Village. Its one of the on post housing units next to Pershing Park i believe. I heard these are considered off post. Is it located in another bad part of Killeen?
I can’t give any insight in on post housing. I stayed in the barracks at my time at fort hood. But I had friends who stayed in different area of on post housing, your best bet is to live off post. Better quality houses, maintenance , etc.
Ft.hood was my first duty station with HHC 1/9 Cav. Headhunters. From 5 Mar.98 to 1 Oct. 00. I never was so glad to leave a place in my life. Lol but once Cav. always Cav.
I was thinking about PCS’ing to Ft. Hood for my next duty station. I’ve been stationed at Ft Carson, CO and now Eglin AFB, FL. After looking at this video it sounds like Hood itself is trash, but the location is pretty good so I don’t know now 🤔😩
Brian Dominguez Carson was nice🔥, the scenery was nice everywhere! Carson is one of those places where everyone there (for the most part) loves to be stationed there because there’s a lot to do In Colorado Springs, and you’re only 75mins away from Denver
We are headed there next. So not looking forward to it. It will nice being only a couple hours away from family but I've only heard terrible things about the area. Ratchetness and me don't mix lol. We were at Stewart before walter reed but lived in Savannah because i couldn't deal with hinesville. Would you consider hood worse than Stewart?
Fort Campbell isn’t that bad. I hate the location and It depends on your unit and what you do. I’ve actually received better care here at medical than my last two duty stations.

The location is great but toxic leadership can definitely ruin someone’s experience. I don’t know anything about on post housing except the barracks. My barracks were newer and did not have mold.
I was once stationed at fort hood 13th signal / 13 cav fun time there.Hated being cold, the weather changes so much in an instant. Lived on post , the px, commissary, bowling, the movie spot was the place to be during free time. Save much money on post or close to it. Did go to field a lot. hated it. Hate snakes and it was always in summer. No thanks. Went to south korea from there. Loved it in Seoul
It gets hot... Iraq and Ft. Hood are the only times your boots start to white from salts in your body from working in the sun. But Austin isn't far away, and float down the river in San Antonio. Texas can be fun , stay safe tho
Good video, Y’all need to try out krab kingz and Mercado Azteca if y’all are looking for good food in Killeen. Also stay away from the girls you meet on tinder, Fort Hood is big on SHARP and Killeen is BIG ON Chlamydia. If you’re driving down Rancier at night watch out for crackheads running through the middle of the road. Also don’t be that new private walking around to the 24HR shoppete in your high and tight, Basic training shirt, Blue jeans and tan belt with your combat boots or pt shoes on. We all know you’re a boot and will make fun of you. Also 1st Cav goes on ROTATIONS not deployments. Stay away from taboo, dudes got shot up there multiple times. Other than that WELKUUUUUM 2 DEEE “GREEEAT PLACEEEE”. Get ready to spend your day in the motorpool. It’s not that bad here coming from a 11B. 2nd duty station, I love it here.
Christian Nationalist I’ve never heard anyone say that. 101st is the best unit aside from 82nd and 75th ranger regiment. You should be honored to be in Campbell.
At the moment I'm not re-enlisting again but I wouldn't mind going back because I've been there for so long. I do want to settle down in Texas but in the Dallas area.
This is a Signal Brigade there who deploys a lot (11th SIG) or you’ll be in the other units. There is a Signal university located there also. I’ve taken a few classes there in the past. Bliss has one of 11th Sig’s battalions there.
This a very good example of what is wrong with military .This emotional soldier is upset because she is stationed at Ft Hood Tx .I feel sorry for her chain of command .But she is very lucky to have a job n paycheck count your blessings honey .You could be sitting at a subsized apartment with 3 kids n no husband on welfare.Count your blessing your at Ft Hood.

I know this is months old, but the possibility of worse living situations existing doesn't negate the validity of the poster's experience(s). So sick of those people on EVERY single "my experience" video talking about "well, you could have half a leg and rust coming out of your shower, so nothing you went through could be that bad. Be thankful." That attitude is why nothing ever changes for the better.

I'm actually from Temple which is about 30 minutes from Hood. I'm actually getting ready to PCS to Hood so, I would suggest looking in the Harker Heights area.
