Thanks so much! I'm 71 now, but I used to hike quite a bit. You are the only one who makes videos that actually capture the "feel" of the trail. I really appreciate these videos. Good Job! Remember, its not how far or fast you go - in the end what you'll remember and cherish is what you experienced along the way.
Fantastic pictures of the stars! Thanks for sharing that! Good luck! Watch for rattlesnakes and poison oak, when you get there, don't touch any poodle dog bushes!
The umbrella is super smart despite the not so hot temps. That sun beating down while exerting yourself is a recipe for sunstroke. You’re doing so well and I’m so grateful you’re documenting this trip. I love many of the vlogs by other hikers but that you’re a woman in my age group really makes me happy‼️😊
Lake Morena! Beautiful spot looks like. Nice place to rest! Congratulations of a good start of your dreams and hopes. We here in West Texas are pulling for you!
I love how you show camp life too...so many vlogs are of the hike itself (which is great) but I love the shots of what you ate, etc. I’d love to see someone show themselves actually packing up their pack in the am (where and how they stuff things)
Enjoying your videos. Love the sky shots. I am 63 and this is on my bucket list. I want to do the PCT in a few years. Very inspired by you being female and doing it solo.
Really nice camera work. You're definitely the real deal. My money is on you for finishing in Canada. Beautiful shot of the night sky in camp at Lake Morena. Cheers!
Ahh enjoying your videos so much! It's nice to hear your take on the trail, along with the nightly recaps and gear updates... a welcome touch for us prospective PCTers. The desert is looking so lush! What a great time to be out there. Enjoy your time and thanks for taking us along for the ride!
Good feedback!! I slacked off of the nightly recaps a couple days in. I like them too and will be mindful of adding those in most videos. Some days I just wanted to crash as soon as I got to camp 😂😴
@@TikiBirdTracyHaha I bet! You just keep putting first things first...we appreciate your videos, but would much rather have you healthy, safe and rested! :)
Wow! Stunning last picture. That is a keeper. And the camera on the phone is doing an incredible job. Super steady and clear. Your pans of the scenery are perfect. Nice and slow so we can take it all in. 😊 What beautiful weather! Have fun there! 👌🏕
Thanks, Tracy. Following your hike with great interest. I am a 52 year old female who is inspired by you getting out there! Grateful for the real and helpful info about how you are really doing. Praying you get more restorative sleep!
Yayyyy!!! So happy you're on trail!! Swear, the weather and everything is exactly like my first attempt. Can't wait to watch your journey! Thank you for sharing it with us 😊
Thanks Tracy. You appear to have made a strong start. I imagine it must take a few weeks for the body and mind to adapt to the new lifestyle. I also imagine that point to be quite liberating. Best of luck.
Thanks for showing Lake Morena. I had been wondering what the situation was now that there are so many PCT hikers. They only used to have a small campsite on the far side of the campground next to the trail.
Slow and steady wins the race. No need to risk injury by doing big miles early. You have set a nice pace and are settling in nicely into your thru hike. Beautiful videography documentation of your hike so far. Thank you for taking me along with you.
It's interesting to see what folks crave when coming into a town/settlement for a quick re-supply at the beginning of the trail then at the middle and finally at the end. Very best wishes for a fun and rewarding adventure.
Nice camerawork👍 And your audio volume is evening out somewhat better than earlier. Happy to hear your knee is not bothering you on the declines, I get a pinch there every so often and it's not fun, but it usually works itself out. You're so lucky with the greenery and water levels this year, it's usually so dry and brown/tan-looking. Great hiking and stories.
I’m really enjoying your gentle, practical, informative and thorough presentation style. Thank you. Well done! When you have time, could you share your stretching routine with us? Thanks! 🙏👍
Really enjoying your videos! It is nice to know which parts of the trail take more time and are more technical as well as seeing all the gorgeous views. Glad your knee is feeling better!
Just caught your videos. I hiked this part of the pct in 93. Yea been awhile. I did not appreciate this part of the trail much as you are. My loss. I was hot sweaty and miserable with seemed to be miles of endless bouldery shrubbery. Nice to see this area from a different vantage point
Get ice from the store for your knee it will reduce swelling and use your gre Trekking poles on downhills and put some load thru your arms. I have the same thing with my right knee. Also take a medication for inflammation. Good luck, you will adapt.
The ledge walk a few more days in was a bit more sketchy in person. But still manageable for me. I’m not too thrilled of heights and made it with just a little nervousness. But most don’t look as intimidating as they do on camera.
Another great video. Tell us about any bird sightings. Are the chirping their heads off in these first few weeks of spring? I think I heard some bird action about 0930. Is it warm enough for shorts yet?
Thank you so much for the detailed info on the trail itself. It helps me plan out my mileage on the first couple of days. Can I ask what did you use to take such a great shot of the night sky? The stars were so sharp!
