Stumbles has talked about you for over a year and I’m happy he got to meet you. He always said if you and your group can hike this hike, so could he. Congrats on finishing up the PCT this year.

The one time I stayed in South Lake Tahoe, I stayed at the campground. They had showers, and I had a tent, so I saved some money. I did feel a little out of place with my trekking pole tent among the RVs and car campers with their inflatable mattresses and sofas. I got some good Mexican food right across from the campground, and the stores were within easy walking distance. Walking through there, I thought living on Echo Lake would be pretty nice, but I only thought about how to get food into those cabins. I never thought about utilities.
Oh those rocks coming down from Lake Aloha along Echo Lakes....I HATE those darn things! They are quite the ankle turners. The cabins you see along the lake are actually rentals and they are accessible by boat. There is a shuttle boat (hence all the people you saw waiting) that takes people to those cabins and across the 2 lakes. People often hike one way, and then take the boat back. Last year when we were hiking out from our backpacking trip, our teenage boys got ahead of us (with instructions to wait at the store). My husband and I kept joking that we were going to take the boat back and wave to them from the lake 😂 We ended up hiking the rest of the trail, but those darn rocks made it tempting 😉
Libation Lodge...I like the name. Echo Lake was very nice. I'd be tempted to stay a while, not to mention Lake Tahoe. You guys are hitting the resorts. Thanks for all the vids and thanks to Kristy for all the great editing and uploading, and Joe's sister, Nancy (?). for that great Codger music we all know and love.
