I'm loving following your journey. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for your work in bringing awareness to the experiences of wildland firefighters and the effects of the fires. I was a wildland firefighter in N. Cal (Klamath and Shasta) back in the late '70s early '80s. It's a crazy different world now. We rarely had the huge and totally devasting fires that are so common these days. I also helped to survey and build some of the PCT along the McCloud River and near I-5 at Castle Crags. Those were fun times. I know you're on the CDT now. May your journey continue to be safe and awesome!
We know you're fit, but its getn' into the danger zone with those temps, humidity, air quality and fire threats. Might wanna start the nocturnal rotation.
Love your footage and trekking narratives! Was in Grant's Pass and at Crater Lake on those 105-115 degree days, just ahead of you getting there, it seems; maddening weather!
I was out in southern washington for a few days when the temps were regularly 100s earlier in august, fucking sucks bro. Felt like I was in a fugue state.
