Section J had spectacular views right out of the gate, but the technical trail made it difficult for us to enjoy them. We (especially ForeRunner) got bogged down in “making the miles” and staying on schedule!

It’s incredible! I would love to do it when my son graduates high school. I just think I’d go slower to enjoy it. But I’m a marsthoner not a runner! :) definitely inspiring

Your comments and videos have been some of the best I have seen. You have honest, even when the trail is hard. Your videos include the trail conditions rather than just the views. Thank you. Only suggestion…include mile markers when you encounter landmarks such as river crossings and camp sites….even if you don’t stay there.

You were hiking through talus slopes not scree. Talus is medium size rocks. Scree is smaller rocks.

I can't believe she is so worried about mileage instead of enjoying herself. It is so hard, technical and steep. Relax and enjoy.

@@Learningthetruth7 that was definitely my biggest takeaway from this section. It was hard to not let the mileage get in the way of having fun and enjoying the trail. It’s a common thru hiking mental game, I think, that we all deal with from time to time. It was partially from a place of not wanting to run out of food, but not entirely. The trail is a great teacher - the more I hike, the more lessons it teaches me!!
