Dr. Alberto Espay is a Professor and Research Director of the Gardner Center for Parkinson’s disease at the University of Cincinnati. He has published over 300 research articles and 8 books on neurodegenerative diseases.
The models used to define certain neurodegenerative conditions, such as "Parkinson’s", have largely remained the same for over a century. We have come to know a lot about our model of the disease we call Parkinson’s, but next to nothing about each individual affected. And this is important when it comes to developing novel treatments.
If we can change this latter aspect, and start matching these therapies to people with the appropriate biology to benefit from them, then and only then can we achieve a first success in disease modification. The TEDx talk is a starting point: it offers the option of rescuing the brain of people with Parkinson’s by replacing the proteins being consumed in the process of fighting the individualized cause.
We are delighted to share this event in the PD community.

Thanks for the presentation! Neurotransmitters are made in the Microbiome. (that's in the literature) Walking has been shown to improve PD symptoms. (all over RU-vid) The lymph system carries neurotransmitters, amino acids and fatty acids (long chain and others) to the lymph nodes. (and including the brain) The lymph doesn't have a pump, (like the heart) It uses muscle movement to propel lymph fluid. More can be found on my personal channel (if you're interested)

The paradigm must be changed by patients and their families. Do not wait for the big industry, so get involved with those doctors that have no conflict of interest, or they have, only if they have some one in the family with those issues.

Good morning. From studying AD and Parkinson’s, my conclusion is the amyloid plaque as well as the tau tangles are an autoimmune response to try and preserve the autonomic functions of the body, induced by some sort of insult toxins, mold, pesticides, herbicides or lack of some type of nutrient missing, causing insult the immune system and trying to protect the host from. Could also be caused or exacerbating by last of essential nutrients. Fructose May also play a role 😔. Thank you for looking for the root cause and not just another baud-aid🙏💞✝️ I’m sure you have heard of Dr. Dale Bredesen, would love to see you too work together an share your knowledge, it may forward your knowledge and therefore, progression of helping and testing patients and possibly eradicating these horrible diseases for our future generations…

Could you let the cardiologist know about this concept of discarding a failed hypothesis? They've successfully lowered the population's cholesterol levels in a significant manner, yet CVD is killing more people than ever.

I might be wrong but according to a doctor in Brazil who saw many PD patients the answer is yes that could be a factor. He said many PD patients have a history of worries and fears. Elsewhere I have read long term stress or emotional trauma's could trigger PD.

The Keto diet is not good for people with APOE4 gene, tho it can help other APOE types. Also, those with heart or cholesterol issues don't do well eating high amounts of fat nor do people with more of an ectomorphic body type. What can these people do?

I feel for you. My very dear friend was diagnosed with MSA about 3 months ago and the Doctors don't have any answers. I told my friend he might want to try some B1. Right now, he needs to do something. The drugs are not agreeing with his body.
