There's an entire generation that has no idea why the rest of us have been eagerly waiting over a decade for this announcement. Just need those drums to follow. And hey, Fortnite Festival, maybe look at switching vocals from a note highway to karaoke style like vocals are in RB pretty please. ;)
Drums just need to be a dongle for electronic drumkits... the mass produced drumkits die too often. Just give me the oppertunity to plug in an electric drumkit
@user-nl2bi2kx9k Extremely out of touch comment. Rock Band is from the creators of the original Guitar Heros. The last main installment in the Guitar Hero franchise shuttered it's servers after 3 years. Meanwhile the latest Rock Band, despite coming out years earlier, remains successful over a decade later, discontinuing support only to move on to their next project. The fans of this genre have been as unanimous as it gets in gaming for the support of Harmonix having the superior product. You're trying to speak authoritatively in a space you clearly are not a part of nor understand, bud.
@user-nl2bi2kx9k The 'latest' Guitar Hero came out the same year, and had to shut its servers down three years later. Rock Band is still going strong almost a decade later, discontinuing DLC support only to move on to their next project. Everyone may not like Rock Band, but clearly the fans of this genre keeping it alive *do* and so, the only thing that's 'kind of worthless' is your opinion in this space that you're clearly not a part of, bud.
currently using older ps2 guitar hero guitars etc work on festival rn, all you need is a program called joytokey, theres just no strumming yet as thats not implemented into festival at all yet :) @@maxessy1882
As awesome as that would be, the genre itself is nowhere near as popular as it once was and is now more of a niche market, especially since the last GH game didn't do all that well in sales.
Praying this isn’t just a one off and we get a new Guitar Hero or Rockband. Couldn’t see a company releasing a piece of equipment for just one fortnite game.
definitely will be picking this up for Rockband 4, I've been hoping they'd start producing more of these music controllers, since they are kinda pricey to replace lol
The quality of the wooden replicas from RB2 was on a whole other level. Mine still plays like it's fresh out of the box. They came in candy apple red and three tone sunburst.
so excited for this, but please do drums!!! also wondering if we *do* ever get drums, if we'd get the option for them to be like the typical RB pro-drums. Keyboards would be sick too but baby steps lol
Heres my biggest question.....will it have the auto calibration like on rb4....i really dont feel like sitting there for an hour trying to get it perfect
@strangler1 To be fair, they were asking an absolutely ridiculous amount on a website that wasn't known at *all*. It was p much just a marketing ploy to advertise the website that Harmonix invested in/backed to make it compete more with Kickstarter - which, obviously, as well failed unfortunately.
Guessing the “PDP logo” button will be for Overdrive activation. It was a thing on the original, 360/PS3 era guitars, but the RB4 instruments omitted it on the Sony side due to them deprecating the Select button and making it Share, and they required all controllers to have it available. (It still worked on the Xbox One, since they just renamed their Back button to View.) They eventually patched in an ability to activate Overdrive by pressing left on the D-pad, but it was a clunky solution.
They recently dropped "Rock Band Rivals" down to $10 in the Xbox store, but I've been unable to find any controllers (new or used) for it that aren't several hundred dollars. Hoping this isn't priced too high. Really love the folding neck and dongle slot. =)
I'd make the faceplate magnetic for easier customization And hopefully Fortnite Festival is like Rockband or Guitar Hero with unlimited song support and real colors (green, orange, ...) Just looked up Fortnite Festival and all the tabs are just purple. They should really switch that on release of compatibility
USB-C is charging Only and Dongle is only for Audio Latency if you use the 3.5 mm audio port. Still will only connect to PC via Bluetooth 😔 Xbox Version will connect via the Xbox wireless Adapter. Acai confirmed all this on stream. Also retailing for 110 - 130 USD. Scalpers gonna have a field day on this one. Looks like my Xplorer and Jag will never be retired 😭
Been wanting to pick up a Guitar Hero-like game again for a while, if this thing has a nice price point I'll likely to get one. Maybe I'll even actually play Fortnite Festival
the Rock Band guitars (which this guitar is based on) have always had the quiet strum bar. there may be unofficial mods available in the future to swap out the strum bar for a more clicky guitar hero one
Nice work buuuuuuuuuuuut everyone has been trying to get a hold of the drums also. Hopefully someone makes some drum kits or we can hope for rock band 5 🤘🤘
That's way too steep. For a third party piece of plastic, this really needs to not exceed $100-$150 or it's gonna fall incredibly short of where it should've been. They can easily revive the virtual guitar era
