So, if you go through the shatter at 6:20 frame-by-frame (using the period and comma keys), the enemy Rein doesn't start the shield animation until after your hammer lands, and the shield itself isn't even loaded until after the shatter is "blocked". I say, good job Phish. You landed that shatter. The game disagrees, but I say you landed it.
