It is the best intro and the most enjoyable I've seen in memory. I feel like I've forgotten something, but ... it really dictates the tonality, attitude and atmosphere of the show. Really went full Peacemaker as far as the character's ambiance from The Suicide Squad.
If a few years ago you told me that a superhero show's intro would top Daredevil's, while being the precise and utter polar opposite of it, and it'd be for fucking PEACEMAKER, I think my brain would have actually short-circuited. and honestly I think it still did.
I have to say for DC/John cena show my expectations weren’t high at all, but after watching the first 3 episodes I have to say I’m all in. It was funny, weird but hilarious and love the crew. Cena is killing it man
This show feels so fresh, im so glad they are just doing some balls to the wall insanity, if Doom Patrol and this are the new direction they decide to take with a lot of their characters, i would love it
Doom Patrol honestly started off somewhat like this. I feel like as it went on the insanity lvl was slowly toned down as it went on throughout the show
Couldn't agree more. Me thinks the crew is dipping into boomer territory and starting to grab for their pearls a little too early. I think Disney has taken it too far in standardizing what comic book movies and shows should be. People forget that this genre doesn't reside in some PG rated box. PM is crass and closer to the Punisher in character, while his father was an actual Nazi that committed suicide to avoid war crime trials in the comics. It's already "too far" in its origins. Thankfully directors and visionaries will keep pushing the boundaries beyond what's just for kids, but mature content and themes for adults, too.
I like that they aren’t holding back, I hate that about shows today. Just like his dad, there are total pieces of sh@t like that in the real world, so show it! I’m 100% along for this ride.
"he is not great at stopping that knife." *literally no one is.* the best martial artists in the world know that if they enter a fight with someone who's wielding a knife, they'll likely have to sacrifice a limb or two to save their own life. knife fights are *messy.* love that that scene got that across at least to some degree
Well, there's three obvious go-tos; Grab some item to use, get the opponent off-balance (kicks to the legs and feet, circle as much as possible, retreat and close in etc.), or, if you're really desperate, try to direct the knife somewhere (through your palm, anywhere on the opponent, into a wall or table etc.), but I get you.
It more like they know they will get CUT, not that they will lose a limb. If its someone whos just flailing around a knife against a skilled martial artist trained against weapons. Theres a chance they get off with no damage. But yeah most likely they are gonna get cut a few times.
@@SubzeroBlack68 If you get a deep gash or even just several small ones to your bicep or lower arm then you won't be able to punch or grapple with it and effectively lose that limb (not to mention a lot of blood)
It's so funny to see them cringe at the show's humor...because they themselves tell loads of sex jokes all the time. This show's humor would be perfect for them.
I really don’t understand how they think this show is cringy. It is so well written, funny, and emotional. James Gunn really knows how to write complex characters.
I really wish I could've watched you guys watch the intro. I think that's going to be the biggest take away, even though this show, so far, is amazing! EDIT: I'm an idiot, I forgot it was after the open. TY!
Can’t wait for season 2. I watched the suicide squad and later found out peacemaker had his own series. I didn’t expect anything from this but after watching the first episode by accidentally clicking on it, I don’t regret it at all. Best thing I’ve seen with cena in it.
Never knew I needed something more than a Blind wave harmony album with Eric and Aaron as the front men. Love these reactions keep up your amazing work guys!!!
I just wished DC was committed to do single character-stories before they would even ever consider making something else! They have such great and interesting stories to tell!
This was a lot better than i thought. I really loved every single moment. I feel like this is one of those rare shows dont really get produced anymore.
I watched this show yesterday and I'm glad I did. I hesitated because I thought it would be a little generic, and because I doubted John Cena's acting ability, but boy was I wrong. It was awesome and I'm looking forward to the 2nd season.
This show had me hooked faster than any of the Marvel Cinematic TV series and if Warner Bros keeps doing it this way they might give Disney+ a run for their money. I also would not mind if WB made all their DC content Mature while Disney runs the PG-13 content.
Exactly, it's gonna be basically impossible to beat the MCU on the big screen but with this and the other HBO Max DCEU shows coming down the track, WB could easily provide some good competition on that front with shows like Green Lantern Corps, Justice League Dark and the show James Gunn is working on after this.
I love this show so much. Knew nothing going in didnt even realise it was out till i saw this video so quickly had to binge it and the intro is the best thing ever
12K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome, and thanks! ☺️ Notes: Okay, it looks like I did see these before, with my previous subscription and smartphones. 🤔
*_No WAY!_* 😃 *It's not even my birthday!* After *Leota* says, _"I do appreciate the confidence with which you said something so wrong"_ (q.v., 10:30), *Eric* looks right at *Calvin!!!* _S O P E R F E C T !_ 💙 LMAO! 🤣
When I watched the first episode and saw the opening credits I was so confused, but it's so amazing. James Gunn needs to direct literally every movie and show from this point forward
